Yesterday I ordered for a leap here in India, only 50 dollars variations in price lesser than Z30, but my job is mostly outside, considering the screen. And future OS updates I have selected leap, am I took a right decision!?. Thank u

OS updates are irrelevant - they have the same OS/radio combination.

Some people prefer one screen type over the other - you need to decide for yourself.

Some people prefer the look and feel of one over the other - again you have to decide.

Z30 is a more "premium" device with extra features like NFC, USB OTG, and HDMI-out. Only you know if you need them.

Edit: The Z30 also has a slightly faster CPU and a better GPU.

Thank u conite, screen is main issue for me as my job is more in sunlight, is there any performance difference between the two.

On paper the Z30 is a bit faster, with a better GPU. You'd have to lay them side by side to evaluate the real-world difference. I have not done that.

The LCD screen on the Leap is brighter - but some prefer the pop of the colours on AMOLED.

Z30 is in real world, (even using native apps, browsing etc) noticeably faster than Z10/Q10 which have the same hardware as the Leap. Andoid apps are light years faster on Z30. In no way I'd buy a device with the outdated S4 Plus SoC again.

Yes, but I've heard the Leap seems to enjoy some optimizations that put its performance ahead of the Z10. So it's not that black and white. People that have it seem to like it.

Thanks for ur suggestions, believing strongly Z30 will receive updates as long as classic and leap will get, I cancelled the leap and placed order for Z30.

If these enhancements are OS-based, Z10 will get them, too.
People like all kind of stuff. There are even people on this forum trying to tell others that Z30 and Passport wouldn't be faster in everyday use which is completely bullsh1t.

The optimizations are hardware - not the least of which is driving fewer pixels on the screen.

You can check Bla1ze's Leap review here on Crackberry. He has found that with his performance test:

"BlackBerry Z10 with 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4, Adreno 225 GPU and 2GB of RAM - Lost to the BlackBerry Leap, ever so slightly.

So what does that mean? Well, if you ask me not a whole lot. But if you're really picky about a few seconds here and there while loading Android apps it might mean a whole lot to you and now that the Amazon App Store is included, you may find yourself downloading more Android apps and losing a few seconds here to load times."

I have spoken to others who have used both, whose opinions I trust, who feel there is a small performance boost as well over the Z10. Nothing earth-shattering, but there.

The chipsets are the same, of course, but I'm sure there have been some optimizations and improvements in the circuit board design and memory over two years.

May have different reasons like time since last reboot, number of apps installed, number of processes running in the background, OS version etc.
However, the most important sentence is:
BlackBerry Z30 with 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4, Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM - Won over the BlackBerry Leap.

I think you made a right decision by choosing Z30 over leap. I also upgraded from Z3 to Z30 a month ago and I'm quite happy with the decision.

Where did you buy your Z30 from and how much did you spend? There was some good discount going on at infibeam.com for BlackBerry devices last month. Did you check there?

    Between the Z10, and Z30?

    Z30, hands down.

I'm old enough that I need the larger screen size to read comfortably. Battery life is amazing, and the increased speed is more than just noticeable.

The LCD in the Leap should be better than the Amoled in the Z30 when outdoors.

The Leap is way nicer looking, too.

Just opened my leap this morning. Screen is gorgeous! It's also really bright so no issue in direct sunlight. It feels good in the hand.

Unless you are a avid gamer, take the Leap. It's a nice solid device. All smiles with mine

People who think the faster GPU would only be useful for gaming obviously have no clue what they are talking about.
