Recently I dropped my Z30 broke the screen and then noticed when I replaced the screen I was getting blank flashing in my hub, what I mean by this is it would just go white then show all the notifications then go white again. It's gotta be a board issue now I figure. So I decided to finally use the Leap, give it go sorta speak .
First off its not as bad as I thought, I do miss the Z30s sound and the full bars of connection no matter where I happened to be.
I had the Leap in a rubberized case, which made it feel thicker than I wanted, so I decided to go naked.
I'm liking the actual overall feel now after a week being free of rubber.
I don't have the screen protected yet but I'm sure a glass protection will be fitted soon.
For body protection I've gone back to a holster and seems to working out fine so far.
All is good in BlackBerry land again.

That's good that you are happy. But with the price of phones these days, i wouldn't go without a tempered glass screen protector or a pretty good case.

    Usage varies....

I do have a tempered glass screen protector, but I haven't used a case in almost two years.

No, I would not use the Leap bare. The edges are way too sharp to be used naked. The shape of the phone is not the best for grip.

There are some phones that I could use naked but the Leap is not one of them.

I actually find the feel of the bare Leap okay. I'm able to pull it out of the holster with ease and get that secure feel in my hand right away. I'm really liking the bare.
I just know the screen needs protection for sure guess I'll be looking this weekend.

Never! I can't see replacing/repairing expensive devices damaged by simple drops. Classic and iPad Mini (second gen) are both in like new condition because of cases.

Yeah nothing compares to the bare leap. It's just the right weight and has a nice gripiness to it. It's actually my fav bb of all time and I've owned classic and passport

Same with me! Owned both classic and passport but I LOVE MY LEAP. This is honestly the best phone I've ever owned and I don't dare put a case on it! I love carry this phone around in a sea of iPhones and Samsungs I feel like an individual!

I had a cheap case on my Z10 for about a week only. Ever since then, completely bare. In hindsight, it would have been nice to have had a life proof case when I fell into a swimming pool with it in my pocket. Killed the phone and I got a used replacement. No case on it either. I found for me, all/any cases interfered with the smooth use of the touch screen and the awesome VKB. Also, the Z10 looks and handles much nicer bare.

I love the look of it almost got it. But the battery life is so poor. My leap is amazing. After a full day of use I still got 10 -15 percent juice left at 12am. I would have got the Z3 if the battery was better as my back up cause I love the form factor.

I don't use a case of any kind on any of my phones with the exception of the Q5, because the hard plastic is slippery.

Not sure with the leap. I have never dropped it, but it doesn't feel more sturdy than the Classic I can tell you that I have dropped two bare Classics, and have had to buy two replacements. The passport, on the other hand, seems to be unkillable.

I bought a flip-cover case for my Passport a few months back and was using it until I attended a function a few weeks ago. I was having difficulty getting photos with the flip-cover case so I decided to temporarily remove it and put it back afterwards. Man, you guys should have seen how classy the SE Passport looked against those other droid/iOS phones! I decided not to put it back in its case ever since.
