Would viewing or the screen on the rumored 295 ppi, 5 inch and resolution of the Leap / Rio be like how it is on the z10?

I have a z10 now and love the screen, didn't like z30 screen and the q5 was decent enough but not as good as the z10. So, how would the leap be?

I'm very interested in it but if the screen is not clear or bright enough then that'd be a deal breaker.

I'm guessing it'll be identical to the Z30, but LCD.

we wont really know until we see them in person. No one device is the same and a spec sheet wont always tell you everything

Yeah, should be identical to the Z30 with regards to clarity. Z10 is definitely clearer, although you can really notice that much of a difference.

The clarity should also be very close to what the Classic has. Since that's also around the 295ppi range

Other way around. the Z10 has a vivid screen. My only issue with the Z30 is in sunlight. Its hard to see the screen properly.

So long as the RIO is priced what the rumour suggests, at $149. With that price, it should fly off store shelves. But of course with 3 year old specs, I cannot see this device costing more than $150, worst case, $200 Max.
I know I will be buying one to replace my Q5.

While that would be a good price, BlackBerry has never priced their phones properly. They always release them higher than they should be. While I agree that $200 should be the max, I have a bad feeling they will do something stupid in the $249 or $299 range to screw over businesses that want all touch.

Low prices are volume driven and we know that blackberry does not move large volumes anymore.

To me Z10 brightness, clarity, etc is perfect while. The Z30's suck. It's dim.

    As long as it's at least between Q5 and Z10 then I'll purchase...if it's $200 or less.

Based on John Chen's previous comments regarding 2015, he wants to move as many BB10 devices as possible. I believe the Leap/RIO is that device that's meant to help BlackBerry regain market share.
Market share equals positive company perception. And helps the company recover faster.
But agreed, $299 or even $249 won't cut it. Needs to be BELLOW $200 worst case. Hence the rumoured $149 price tag.

And they split the difference of what I though they would price it at. Waterloo is just out of touch.

And here we are at $275.

I really thought it'd be $200 or less.

Maybe it's still a really good price. I just wanted it to be $200 or less because I don't want to spend more LOL.

That has always been an issue with BlackBerry - no matter who is at the helm as CEO.....the pricing.

    It's basically this:
Leap: less crisp than Z10, yet brighter than Z30 thanks to OLED. Might also be a bit crisper than Z30.
Z10: Crisper and most likely similar brightness compared to leap.
Z30: Dimmer than the other two, yet more vivid colors thanks to AMOLED.

I can say it is pretty similar to Zenfone 5 screen.
I personally like the screen on Zenfone 5, so it's okay
