There is LTE in india but only in selected cities.
    Like bangalore, delhi.
If they launch it at rs.15k than it will be better

I really hope it launches in the price u said. But I am almost sure it will be near 20. Converting US dollar it comes around 19500. Dint u see the fate of z3? It was told as a 200 USD fon but in india. It cost 16000 and the reason they said was importing issues and stuff. So when the fon is designed for 275 USD, I really doesnt have hope in the price range u said. Whatever, lets wait and see.

Yes Rs. 16k for z3 is really high and they decreased it to 14k after three months. It is still high considering the internals. When you search it in Google you can see the expected price of leap is Rs. 17k.
It will be coming this month so need to wait..

There is absolutely no way they will launch the phone at 17K. 17K is by simple conversion of $275. I am scared they don't cross 20K.

That may be possible to increase the price to 25k which is the same price as z30 in india

Sorry I didn't get your point really. But yes pricing it too near to the Z30 will be stupid. Since it is more of a Z10 replacement it should be in the ₹18-20K bracket.

Yes BlackBerry has history of overpriced phones in india, considering that we can presume leap to be 20-25 k range phone

I would say 20999/- or 21999/- would be ideal for Leap. It fits between the Z3 and the Z30.

I absolutely don't see the sense of pricing it anything above 19 even. There has to be a substantial gap between the leap and Z30.

I guess the price for the leap will be 20-21k Rs. including import duties and retailer margins etc!
And we could see a drop in 1-2k Rs. in three months time. They should do a pre-order via Flipkart, so that they get some views and free publicity. BB on its own will not take any great measures for promoting the phone!

The Z30 will silently be discontinued like the Z10 and Q10. Even the Z3 won't last long. The Leap is an upgrade to the budget all touch device and the slider which comes up later will be upgrade to the high end touch device. Like it or not The Z and Q series will all be discontinued. It's the time for the new breed of devices Classic, Passport, Leap and the Slider. Can't you see it where BlackBerry is going? Awesome!

Hopefully the Z30 isn't discontinued so soon. Because it still has the best hardware after the passport. The Leap isn't a replacement to Z30 so it shouldn't be discontinued. Also I don't think the Z3 will be discontinued any time soon. It will be a good option for people looking for a budget BlackBerry 10 phone. Also it's a good option for enterprise customers looking for a relatively budget phone.

I dont think z3 will be stopped soon. But z30 will be. Will mostly be sold only until already produced or decided stocks last. Z3, classic, leap, passport and all those which is rumoured to get updates after 10.3.2 is expected to drive a little more far way I believe.

All first generation BlackBerry phones will also get future updates mostly. Because the new phones still use the same hardware as the older ones.
