I just bought a BlackBerry leap for 84 bux off kijiji. Just wondering if this was a good decision in 2017. I'm a die hard BlackBerry enthusiast. I used the bold 9900, then the classic, then the passport then went back to the classic then I read about the leap and just really loved the way it looks so different that all the carbon copy phones out there. So did I make a good decision? Lol

    Nope.
I don't care for android apps or any of that nonsense just need to text..check email..and browse here and there..its a unique looking phone so I don't think I will regret my purchase and you can't beat the 84 dollar price tag

If you can afford the $84 and it's for nostalgia sake more than anything else, you're OK. I preferred Leap over Z30 only because no LTE on Z30 with AT&T in my area. (Missing band)

How long did you own your leap for? And did you like the battery life?

That's what I use my Leap for, plus Facebook Messenger (an android version), and I'm happy with it. Battery life is great, too. I have an iPhone 6s as my daily driver and primary phone number, and it does everything the Leap can't. But I vastly prefer typing and reading on the Leap, as the screen and keyboard are bigger and BB10 is just easier to use, IMHO. The browser can be slow sometimes, but if I'm in a hurry I'll use the iPhone. The Leap is on Tracfone and it's practically free to use.

Hey, for $84 you really can't go wrong!

Yeah I was very happy with the price considering how pricey the phone is on ebay. Got lucky with the seller I found..84 is a steal of a deal and that was shipping included

I still own all my phones. I have to keep in case anything ever needs to be retrieved. Privacy regulations don't allow me to store certain information on and in the cloud.

I used the phone for about 12-13 months. Battery life was decent. My Z30 and Leap were officially replaced by my DTEK 50 and 60. In between I used Passport and PRIV for the BlackBerry PKB however I'm perfectly happy with BlackBerry VKB.

A true individual would use whatever phone they wanted and pay no attention to what other people are or are not using.

if anything it's your opinion in my opinion the Leap is a waste of money a Z30 was a better phone and it was released nearly two years earlier and besides if your getting a new BB10 phone in 2017 beside talk text and emails don't expect to get slot out of it

I had the Z30 and didn't like it at all. Leap has better battery life. I had the Z30 for a 3 days then sold it. Leap just looks better. I'm not worried about apps and social meda and all that other nonsense. I just need a phone..text..light browsing and at 84 bucks u can't beat that price. It should be arriving next week and I'm pumped!

I buy the Leap last week and I love the design and the handling of the device. Sometimes it's laggy when I switch app home screen. And my picture app is slow. I don't know why. Autoloader wipe done.
But I can deal with it

The absolute last thing makers of 800$ - 1000$ phones want is for you to be happy with an 84$ phone. Henceforth, obey!

How is the one handed use? I came from the KeyOne and using my old Z10 now. I'm enjoying the comfort of one handed use and typing, but the battery time is horrible. Thinking of getting the Leap therefore.

Leap is a good upgrade to an old dyeing z10, nice screen, battery life, and 2gb of ram.

Seems like the same specs as the Z10 except for bigger battery and screen (therefore less ppi). What's most important for me is the one handed use. The leap doesn't look very ergonomic, is it? Unfortunately there's no way to try it beforehand.

I owned the leap and yes I feel like it was very ergonomic with a fantastic battery life. I just couldn't get use to the touch screen was too frustrating making so many typing errors so I purchased the passport se and I am loving it.

So, when BB was the smartphone king, BB users were all sheep? It's not possible to choose something popular without being a sheep following a herd?
