I agree with howarmat.
Most likely, it will be a based on MSM8930AB, probably 1.7GHz dual core Krait 300, adreno 305, 2GB LPDDR2 ram running 533Mhz, NA LTE bands, 5" 720P LCD screen. Essentially, it is a Z3 LTE with minor SOC, screen and ram size upgrade.
If that's true, it's not even worth a second glance. What's the point?

I agree. I want something with a better SOC than the Z30 and--if it's a 4.5 - 5" screen, I want full HD.
...The lack of HD on the Z30 was the one and only reason I didn't (and still won't) buy it. And yes, I am able to clearly see the difference in sharpness on a Z30 compared to the Z10.
In fact, I don't even need HD--just a PPI of around 350 (the Z10 has a PPI of 356 while the Z30 has a PPI of 295).
I can't think of one occasion when I wished that my Z30 battery was removable. As for the battery wearing out; I'm sure I'll be ready for a Passport or whatever other new BlackBerry is on the market at the time. Just my opinion!
The partnership with Foxconn enables Blackberry to produce a phone with a better ratio price versus specifications (compared to the own build Z30). It will bring the gross profit per unit up in comparison to the Z30 and increase their numbers. This will eventualy enable Blackberry to work on a new flagship all touch device. And I would not be suprised if the new all touch flagship will have a 1/1 screen ratio based on the passport (if the Passport becomes a succes)!
The future will decide. But I think that if the passport will be a success, he formfactor of future phones (market wide) could change from the biggest candy bar phones to relatively smaller 1/1 phones. Purely based on functionality!
Who knows... that z20 might be the one with octa core.

A Z20 with a Octacore processor would not make sence in a mid-tier segment. Even if the BB10 software would profit from this processor I would use this technology in a new all touch flagship device!

I don't agree with the 1:1 ratio on a full touchscreen. The reason it will work on the passport (and worked on the Q10) is because there is the physical keyboard that will continue the form factor. But a touchscreen 1;1 is a big no. Maybe a 4:3 like a small ipad. Would work better.

I personally do not think they would take a Z20 which is smaller, number wise, and spec it out to surpass a Z30. It is going to be something very in between, if in fact there is a such a device coming.

We don't know if it's a mid tier or not.
We don't know if this thing exists in their warehouse.

Powered by Blackberry
4X3 to me is the best ratio. It's the reason I originally bought an iPad.
In my opinion, if this Z20 really is coming soon, along with the Z3 LTE then there is no Z50 coming anytime soon.
It just makes no sense for BlackBerry. They can only make money if they keep their current devices to a small number and I highly doubt they will release 3 new All-Touch devices in the same generation of devices.
The Z20 will probably have worse specs than the Z30 I'll honestly probably buy a Z30 and I'll be slightly annoyed doing it after waiting all this time for their new All-Touch Flagship....
