Hallels.com is reporting (Sept. 4, 2014) that a Z50 is in production with 5.2" screen, 1080x1920 resolution, 13 MP camera, quad core processor with 64 bit chip and 8GB RAM, and 3300 mAh battery.

I'm not familiar with Hallels. Are they reliable.

It would be great but I doubt that the source is reliable on that particular news! People who internally work for BB keep saying there's still nothing in production. They,as JC(if I remember correctly), stated that a powerful full-touch is present in their near future roadmap. But,still, nothing in production or nothing certain. I truly believe that the production of a GREAT full-touch is strictly related to how good the PassPort will sell,or at least to how many revenues the PassPort will generate ;-)

That strategy... Trying to sell a weird device before launching a standard / classic / regular / normal device.

I'm not saying it is a great strategy, just saying that probably it is the strategy that BlackBerry is following ;-)

If it is reliant on Passport sales then a high end all touch is doomed.

I think passport acceptance will provide insight into what a similarly sized full screen version will do.

They probably have estimates that x passport sales infer y full screen passport sales.

The thing is, the width of the passport makes it a two handed typing device. A touch with the same width is not really the same thing. So who really knows.

Maybe the passport is what will decide blackberry direction for hardware going forward.

As passport will be 1440x1440 it would make a lot of sense to release a 1440x2560 phablet in the future...

They will do a lot of marketing: Work efficient on a bigger screen... a full hd 5" phone would be nice, but nothing special.

One can only hope that passport will sell well in the biz world and will give BlackBerry the financial opportunity to work on other flagship devices...

Low cost: BlackBerry Q5, BlackBerry Z3, BlackBerry Z3 LTE

Mid range: BlackBerry Z30, BlackBerry Classic

High End: BlackBerry Passport, QHD Full Touch (mid 2015?)

    EOL: Q10, Z10

A 5.2" would be too big. I already think the Z30 is a little too big, so I don't want an even bigger phone. Even Apple realized that one size does not fit all. I'm hoping BlackBerry will make an update to the Z10. If they can reduce the bezel on the Z10 they can increase the screen size without enlarging the phone overall.

After using the Z30 I know for sure that I don't want any screen larger than that. IMO a 4.7" screen on a phone that is close to the size of a Z10 would be perfect.

    +1

But I still would like a slider, or this new flipper so I can choose between keyboards

Exactly what I would post. "5" is pushing it for me. I would not want anything bigger for sure. 4.7-4.8 perfect for all around in my opinion

Yes there is news and the news is No!

I would expect to see a replacement for the Z30 late next year. But until I see leaked specs, etc I'm not banking in anything. I think we have a better chance of seeing the flip, slider thing before the Z50

Imo...everyone knows the z10 was meant for the consumer market. Although I'm not happy about it, it may be a very long time before the replacement for a z10 comes out.

I have to disagree, I think the Z20 Aka (Z3 LTE) will be exactly like the Z30. Not in the way of specs but the way they launched it. It was a quiet launch and not many people knew about it. I'm have a feeling late October 20th - 25th they will launch it and then the following month, the classic

I guess the so called Z20 was just not to be

Since the Classic is due December and the only other news we have is "Vista & Victoria" which seem to be a slider device & full touch, which will be showed off in March. So I doubt we will see another device between December and March.

    I think BlackBerry thinks all Z10 users can upgrade to the Z30 and all Q10 owners can use the Passport. Still hoping for;

4" inch slider & 4"8 inch full touch which are upgrades to the Z30

Why get rid of the HDMI? I use it all the time. I think all devices should come with an HDMI output.
