    I am seeing new symbols across the top of the home screen. I don't know what the are.

    You can take a screenshot and post it so folks can see what symbols you are seeing. You could also try describing them.

    Screenshot: Press and hold at the same time Power Button and Vol Down button (timing has to be good or you just lower the volume (check that you have not silenced your device). The screenshot will be saved in the Pictures/screenshot folder.

    It disappeared before I could take a picture. Kind of looked like a walkie talkie.
