Over 10 gb of space internally taken up by apk files and haven't been able to find a definitive answer or whether or not you can delete the files, or at least delete the previous ones as some apps have 5 or 6 apk's listed. The new file app from the last update shows them clearly. Any assistance please?

Delete them, without root, you can't delete anything critical, worst case an app vanish's,or doesn't work and you have to reload it.

Once installed, you have no need for the apk file.

you can use "app backup ＆ restore" from playstore to back'em all up in Google Drive ( clouding some prior versions, very useful) then delete any saved on phone...

I've like 141 app installed - perhaps there is an easy way to find those apks and get free spaces

They won't be there unless you put them there.

Play Store will not keep a copy of the apk file on the device.

I delete them regularly. So far haven't had issue. They start to really pile up after awhile, especially if running lots of apps.

...just do a search for .apk and it will list them all
