I'll be listening to Spotify on my KEYone at 80-100%. Randomly it will go quieter and the only way to fix it is to reboot the device.

WTF is wrong with this phone? Software bug? Hardware issue? It's annoying.

I am not sure if it's helpful... But I had the same issue with my sound card in PC some time ago. I contacted Creative and found out it's due to drivers being faulty. They fixed it in an update. Try contacting BBMo, it might by a software issue.

Similar but mine is when I am on YouTube. The volume is @ a consistent level until I switch apps and then go back to YouTube, all of a sudden, it's quieter (almost as if I'd blown a part of the speaker).. anyways the volume is much lower even @ max volume. I found rebooting resets the speaker @ where it should be.

I use YouTube, Slacker, 7Digital (since my BlackBerry Bold 9700 days), and TuneIn Radio without any issues involving the speaker or earphones whether wired or Bluetooth. I have never tried Spotify.

Just on a lark, could this somehow in some way be associated with the personal safety advisory that comes up when plugging in earphones? Might well be a software issue to investigate??

I have noticed it while watching YouTube. I pause it for a while and then the audio goes down. Subsequent pause/play brings it back.

Haven't tested it after the update I received yesteryear

This happens to mine when using google maps. The app will start giving directions and its normal and then the voice becomes much quitier with the directions. Its really starting to get annoying.

Same. I don't use Spotify, either and I'm streaming almost the entire workday. Google Play Music, YouTube, or Pandora.

i noticed that too but i cant reproduce it. it seems intermittent.. its mostly a leveled volume which is quite loud, but every once in a while the voice would lower and then go back up to original volume...

If it happens on both, must be something off with the phone (no matter software or hardware). Does it also happen when you play music with other music player?

I don't know the exact cause but sometimes the volume would fix itself after I minimize and open the app again. If that does not work, I have to close the app and relaunch. Also, checking the "media" volume helps. Sometimes I notice it is turned down. The phone might be trying to normalize itself with the "ring" and "media" controls (just a guess).

I've experienced the same issue - while using Google maps navigation, the voice's volume goes low randomly on some direction announcements then goes back to original level a few announcements later.

I have also had people tell me that my voice becomes low to them at times during phone calls but alternates between original call volume and lower volume during the call. When low, they say it sounds as if I pulled the phone away from my face during the call.

Hoping this is just a software bug that an update will fix.

Otherwise the KEYone has been an amazing phone in the 2 weeks I've had it - great to be back to a 9900/Q10 form factor but with all the modern smartphone features that are all bonuses to the amazing battery life and keyboard of course!

Mine is the other way around. My media volume keeps turning itself up to 100%! Keeps making me jump when I'm scrolling down Facebook!! Even while I was typing, the notification showed the media volume zipping up to full. Very annoying! Any ideas?
