Downloading testing (Comcast Speed test) from my router to my desktop, 143 Mbps. Download testing (Open Signal App) from my router to my KEYone at the same distance and location, 55.5 Mbps.

Why is the KEYone so much slower when testing over the same network, same connection, same location.

Lots of variables could be affecting that including the routing since you're not using the same apps, the network you're actually connected to (2.4Ghz / 5Ghz), the channels you're attached to and more.

It's capable of much more... but there are lots of factors.

I'd use another phone to make sure the router is working.

Try some different speed test apps.

    Reboot and test.

Some had issues on Nougat, but I taught those were mostly fix with Oreo.... unless you have a CDMA KEYone?

But let's be serious, 55.5 Mbps to a smartphone is massive overkill. That's 11 simultaneous HD resolution video streams.

I remember when some CompUSA guy tried to upsell me on my modem from 2400 bit/s to 56 kbit/s. Who needs that?

We’re all stuck here together. Gloried in the old ways. Evolution happens, we’ve adapted. Doesn’t mean that we can’t have fond memories.

Memories.... I'll probable never forget the STORM. Spent a lot of time here learning how to tweak that thing and customize the OS loads. Really only had it about a year, but it created memories...

It may be massive overkill to YOU. Eye of the beholder. I'd want to have it on par with my other devices on the network too. As a frequent downloader/cacher of Youtube vids, podcasts, etc, I'd notice a difference.

    Although this isn't a device issue - it's a router issue.

That's beside the point I'm making but agreed.
