This is why people (including me) in the DTEK60 forum are upset. You say yes it will, with certainty. But you have absolutely no proof of this.
Assume it won't get the update.

Trust me on this.
Seems legit :).
no update for KEYone guaranteed. it will be abandoned in 2 months when they realize how few they sold
Samsung is on the list for Android O...yay! I hope BlackBerry is already well on top of this for their Hub+ Suite.
A TechCrunch article this afternoon quotes a Blackberry/TCL spokesperson saying the KEYone will receive Oreo. I posted it here:

Can confirm. We got the same word.
Wow...
Never doubt me.

You do not understand how too read / interpret economic results. Your response says it all. LOL!
Yes, it will GET Android O
Given the upgrade path followed by BlackBerry / TCL, no, it will not
I read it. 3 weeks ago, TCL told me totaly different story. So my knowledge was: K1 will NOT get O.
But personaly I will believe it, when O arrives on my K1. Not before :-)
Confirmed KEYONE will receive Oreo. See publication CrackBerry
A broken clock still gives the right time twice a day.
Unless it's digital. ;)
Very pithy, but unwarranted comment.
check CB main page, it is now official. Keyone will receive Oreo upgrade! Great news!
BlackBerry cash is held by BlackBerry & I would be astonished if they exposed a plug nickel vi the BlackBerry TCL venture... JC likely massaged TCL into harboring all the risk...
I think if you read through carefully that piece bases the claim that KEYᵒⁿᵉ will get Oreo on some kind of a phone call with some representative of Blackberry which could have been the telephone operator or even the sweeper...
Unlikely that both TechCrunch and CrackBerry would report anything but an official statement. Obviously, we can't prove that, but in both cases BlackBerry Mobile was asked for a statement by writers working on articles, which would be handled by someone from their Corporate Communications department.
In most companies every employee is told to refer questions from the press to the communications department. Not doing so is grounds for disciplinary action. Why would a telephone operator or anyone else not authorized risk their job to give such a clear statement?
Anything is possible, but the most plausible answer is that the story is accurate.

Wait, what? Blackberry has a corporate Communications Department?? What the heck do they do? I have never in my life seen a company so inept at corporate Communications. And that goes for all Communications. There must be a jerk in their Circle...
Aside TOS violations I don't believe crackberry functions as curator of veracity in these forum postings...
Both BlackBerry Mobile and BlackBerry have media relations departments. You can find them easily on their websites. Those are the contacts to which someone writing an article for online or print media would be directed.
And it would be highly unusual for anyone from those departments to simply make up a policy about OS updates. Assuming that's where the confirmations came from, we can be pretty sure they were approved by someone at the VP and above level.

So, are you implying that Bla1ze was lying when he said that a spokesperson from BlackBerry Mobile had confirmed that the KEYone would receive Oreo?
