How about build quality and signal reception, here are so many threads about problems with their key one.

That comment doesn't make much sense. Have you seen the pile of cash they have and the fact that they are cash flow positive?

Thurber has already publicly stated they are already working on O.

There are NO BlackBerry devices on the released list of devices getting android O.
I've had nothing but BlackBerry since rocking the thumb wheel. Even their newest devices are being dumped into the market and left to be obsolete. Security updates are missed or skipped already too. I'm finally and unfortunately on my last BlackBerry. Wish it weren't the case, but I'm done.

    Hard to say.

Priv released on Lollipop then got upgraded to Marshmallow.

KEYone released with Nougat with hopes of upgrading to Oreo in the next few months?

The cash flow is from the qualcomm lawsuit, hiding the losses on a technicality.

Its been 1 week, haven't encountered much issue, my previous device was OnePlus 2.

    Some issues such as-
    1) When you connect charger the behaviour changes slightly
    2) At times touch lags by milli-milli seconds

    But net-net worth a buy

I believe yes but it'll be a long time before BlackBerry finalizes and releases that software to the masses.

It isn't up to BlackBerry. It is a TCL decision who is not going bankrupt any time soon.

Very likely, but I would appreciate them a bit more if they put their focus on the current issues.

It's TCL's decision, and, since they seem to be in it for the long haul, I suspect they will. The typical lag between Goigle's release of a new OS and Blackberry's release of their version has been 6 months, so I'd expect O on the KEYone sometime next spring.

Well, if it is, BlackBerry Mobile and TCL haven't told Google yet. Of course, there are lots of others not listed as well, so certainly not a complete list.

We're pushing the sources to Android Open Source Project (AOSP) for everyone to access today. Pixel and Nexus 5X/6P builds have entered carrier testing, and we expect to start rolling out in phases soon, alongside Pixel C and Nexus Player. We’ve also been working closely with our partners, and by the end of this year, hardware makers including Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global Home of Nokia Phones, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp and Sony are scheduled to launch or upgrade devices to Android 8.0 Oreo. Any devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program will also receive this final version. You can learn more at android.com/oreo.

Sorry to quote myself, but i'd like to add that I would NOT buy a KEYone if this was a critical issue for me, as there are no guarantees. The only phone I'd buy in that case would be a Pixel.

At this point I've learned to read between the lines with everything that any exec at BlackBerry says. So yes Thurber may have stated they are working on O but he didn't say specifically for the KEYone.

Most any Flagship released by a major brand this year... will get Oreo. If it's a Samsung, you pretty much guarantee two+ update cycles.... Thing is everyone is getting better, as it's clear that users are coming to expect it. Now midgrade devices or fringe manufactures.... who know what they'll do.

But I do agree that Google Phone are probable the best to get if Android updates are important.
