I love my Classic, the physical keyboard, the size, the Hub etc. But the lack of apps is extremely frustrating! Will BlackBerry roll out an optional software update so its Android software can be loaded on the Classic and other current BB10 models?

I have Q10, Leap, Z30 and Classic and all have android apps, both amazon app store and Google play store! Plus my BlackBerry world! I think I'm covered as far as apps go!

Yea, but see, not all of us rely HEAVILY on apps, yet the one or two that don't work are what we want. I don't play games, Facebook, Twatter, or Instagram, but my Grandma has a WiFi photoframe, and no matter the patching, Whitelisting, etc, the app simply doesn't work and I have to wait to get home to upload photos from my computer.

Those little things are where BB10 gets annoying.

Love the idea of a new version of the Classic with android and upgraded hardware.

Form factor of the Classic IMHO is the perfect phone for me.

Moved from a Oneplus One to a BlackBerry Classic just for the amazing keyboard and great signal strength (in my area), HUB, etc!

Soon? Really? You'd think BlackBerry might have actually said something about it by now. It took them about 8 months to deliver the Priv after first showing it.

I don't see any reason for BlackBerry to do this. For any of their current devices. If you want Android on their hardware, you are going to need to buy the Priv or anything they come out with afterward.

Classic = perfect form factor, battery life. If it had android and apps it would dominate the market. I switched to an iPhone and hate typing on it so am going back to the Classic but will miss many many useful apps (banking, airline, hotel, etc.). Who doesn’t like typing on a real keypad!!??

If you do not rely heavily on apps. Then you are not living in the smart phone age.

Never will happen. Because. It's already in the market and they already have their hands full with other things in the pipeline.

If it wasn't for apps all phones would be able to do is answer/receive phone calls and text. Not very smart if you ask me.
As long as Cobalt keeps supporting his apps I don't see a strong reason for getting a Android based BlackBerry, even though I do like my wife's Priv. A Blackberry Classic or Blackberry Android Classic size phone has more appeal to me these days.

Absolutely hoping that the Vienna comes with a Classic styled keyboard. That would be the ultimate DroidBerry.
