    Hi!

I've just got my new KeyOne (AT&T version, PRD-63116-036, firmware is AAO750). It's unlocked as far as I know (because I use it outside US with another carrier). BUT, it has no updates. Just the September one.

I've looked this matrix: https://tclota.birth-online.de/ and found out that this version didn't get any update from September till this day.

Is it possible to update this device? Or will AT&T ever release OTA update? Thanks!

AT&T does release OTA updates, just that they use a different mechanism than the TCL one (which is tracked by that website).

I believe you'd need to put in AT&T SIM in order to get OTA updates. Carrier unlocked is different than factory unlocked.

Because it's AT&T. You either live on their schedule, or update yourself, which is what I've done with BBOS (Torch 9800) and BB10.

OP is stuck on AAO750 and my AT&T KEYone is on AAW392. Don't think it's the carrier but not having the carrier SIM installed.

Thank you all for the reply! So, all I need is to insert ATT sim in my phone? Even if there is no ATT carrier in my country (and BlackBerry could not get the signal)?
Is there any other solution to update my device (maybe not OTA), because I can't even imagine where could I get ATT sim in my country (1000s miles from US).

Well, to be fair, android phones are a bit different when it comes to "doing it yourself". It's not the same level of ease as BBOS or BB10.

AT&T SIM has to be active if memory serves me correctly.

Someone on here with better experience will probably verify better information. Look on CrackBerry for more information on autoloaders.

AT&T/Sprint/China devices don't have the freedom to update themselves, they have to be on an OS with the right signatures (i.e. not what anyone else has).

You can try pulling out the SIM, rebooting, and checking over WiFi.

Although I'm pretty sure you will need a working AT&T SIM.

Thanks! So, if I understood everything correctly I CAN'T update my K1 with autoloader? Only ATT card and OTA updates?

I should revise that to mean, primarily, US carrier branded android phones are harder to do an autoloader type update on. They are nearly impossible.

Just look at the recent "universal" autoloader for the Keyone. Not very universal if it won't work on AT&T, Sprint or China Mobile.

It's not like the good ol' days where a BlackBerry OS is a BlackBerry OS regardless of where it came from, and you only had to match device name.

You can order an AT&T GoPhone SIM, (thats their prepaid service) online from tons of places. Register it online, with a US address, (doesn't matter who's address). And update over wifi.
A year or so ago, it wasn't even necessary to purchase any airtime, not sure if thats still true.
Moral of the story is - never buy a carrier device.

Come to think of it, you prob don't even need a US address.
