With the Mercury, or whatever name they decide on, announced I want to be excited but I know if I make the jump back to android I'll be very disappointed. I mean it's beautiful, but I know I won't get this with Android. Three email accounts pushing, bluetooth (to three devices), wifi, location and data on all day, and constant email, social media and video playback. I remember being very happy with 6-7 hours on my Priv. Passport SE, I think you're here to stay.
This is why I'm not as hyped for the Merc as I wanted to be.-img_20170105_010402.png

I highly doubt passport is better than a Moto Z Play with a snapdragon 625 with a 3510mAh battery in regards to battery. Have you seen the battery life on that thing? It is literally insane with 10 hrs+ screen on time over a 2 day span. If Mercury rumours are true and it has a batteryclose it with a 3400mAh battery or so and a 625, it will surpass passport without a doubt in the battery life compartment. Snapdragon 801 is nowhere near the low power consumption of a 625.

Yeah, the Passport battery is a beast, that's for sure. But alas, remains to be seen how Mercury will do as well.

I completely agree Passport battery is a beast and the only device lasts me for more that 24hours with 40% still remaining. I hope TCL keep this in their mind for the Merc because Android is a battery muncher.

Never was a beast for me. I would have to charge my passport by 4pm when it was unplugged around 6am if I kept my usage down. If I used it lots it was 60% of that.

If you have no reason to need/use/update Android-based apps, then that's great for you!! There's no reason to think about getting a new phone. It's as simple as that really. ☺

I love my Passports, don't get me wrong. But compared to my Classic and even DTEK60, it pales in comparison in terms of battery life. And I'm a minimal user. DTEK60 is the clear BEAST for me.

With a smaller 1080p screen (4.5) and if rumors are true 3450mAh battery I think it will be a workhorse. Also, don't forget android 7(nougat) is more efficient than 6(marshmallow).
