I have location services turned off on my Keyone. But the DTEK app reports that Google Maps has "accessed" my location data numerous times. Google support states: "If you turn off location mode for your device, then no apps can*use your device location. (This includes both*Google and non-Google apps.)". Does anyone know specifically what Google Maps is accessing? In the background, is it turning on my location service to see my location or is it reading my location history? Maybe it is trying to access but is in fact receiving an access error (as I would hope!)

When I got my keyone, I noticed everywhere I go Google was asking me to review the store I was in or tell it's opening hours. Pretty sure I turned off all options I could see but it still kept happening, so I actually disabled the app.

Pretty important distinction between the two... how can we find out what is actually happening?
