I like my devices without a case no matter what it is. But if the back is slippery, than a case will be needed.

I'm on the fence with this one, I like the idea of having a case protect it since I seem to drop my phone a lot. But I personally think the phone looks freaking sweet, so I really don't want to go without a case.

The screen definitely does not need a screen protector nowadays. My phones have been naked screen for years and not a single scratch.

For my priv, I do have a case, but that is primarily to use the quick peak feature through the indie on the front. It's one of the most useful features and I love using it to quickly address notifications.

It's always nice when you are able to use the device naked and not have to worry about it getting scratched
This is why i love the Leap so much. It's rubber texture back prevents scratches and keeps the device looking new. Hopefully the 'Mercury' has something similar so we don't need a case BUT Blackberry make some classy cases and I'm happy to get one.

Also, i cant wait to start calling this device by its actual name. Been saying 'Mercury' for ages and age now lol

It depends on how slippery/grippy the back and sides are.

I use a case with every phone I've ever had. Mainly because the devices are so slippery, I'm just afraid it's going to slip no matter how careful I am with the phone.

The Priv however, is a different story. I haven't used a case on it since day 1 and its in perfect condition and I've never dropped it or ever felt like it was going to slip. Sometimes I miss the days when phones were made of thick indestructible plastic.

I imagine fixing this phone will cost a pretty penny like the PRIV. If you drop your phone multiple times a year get a case.

A Piel Frama flip case would protect the screen and the body and look awesome to boot, sadly it seems they won't be releasing a case for Mercury so will have to make do with a Noreve.

I never scratch my phone when I am naked either.

Cases are more of a personal thing. Although I like the naked look, I also don't hang on to devices too long, so I tend to go with a case that is slim but gives the device enough protection incase it is dropped.

I will need definitely a case to protect it from scratches.
A nice punch for using it naked would be the best for me or a flip case.

I put on screen protectors every time not for the scratches, but for the smudges. A nice anti-glare screen protector really keeps smudges down. I hate smudgy screens.

Screen protector is a necessity. As is a soft gel skin case. The case is usually thru the week when I'm out of the house but on the weekends I like to take it off when I'm home. I cherish my BlackBerry phones too much to not protect them...from me, lol. Though I don't drop them much but just in case. I've had my Classic for 2 years & 2 months and I've dropped it on the concrete maybe 3 times and all 3 I luckily had the case on ;-)

    Classic, Q10, Bold 9900, Bold 9000...do u notice the pattern? :-)
