Actually Mercury refers to the element, not the planet.

    Neon, Argon, Mercury.

Really good point. But Neon and Argon are noble gasses and Mercury is somewhere else on the periodic table.

If they went with the Neon, Argon pattern. Next would have been either Krypton, Xenon, Radeon.

Or maybe I'm just over thinking it

Neon and Argon are closely related as they are based on similar TCL designs.

Mercury is a distinct BlackBerry design.

In my opinion, we're going to get another full-touch after the Mercury, based on an original design though, so as to not confuse users or launch useless DTEKs clones in the market. That is, a true successor to the Z30.

Called Vienna/Rome when still developed by BlackBerry, renamed Mercury to indicate TCL picked it up.

Likewise Hamburg was replaced by Neon.

I don't think any chance they'll reveal *two* phones. He was pretty darn clear it was *later* this year.

Is there any chance he'll reveal 2 new phones?

I'm thinking there might be one very well guarded secret they'll reveal. And I don't think it's the name.

Yes, Neon, Argon, and Mercury were TCL's internal project names. Vienna, Hamburg, and Rome were BlackBerry project names.

Cistulli mentions that Mercury "means liquid silver" and Mercury is very close to Silver on the Periodic Table.

Interesting point is that, DTEK50/Neon is still modelled STH100.
