I thought BlackBerry was going to control updates like apple does, yet it's mid-july, I can't send an sms while on wifi without half of them failing until I turn off wifi, and Rogers said a week ago ' the July update will fix this' but couldn't tell me when it will be released.

Why aren't there any autoloaders? I sure miss the BB10 days ...

Only applicable to factory unlocked devices and has been since Priv was released. If your device was sold to you by Rogers, you're subject to their update schedule/approval.

    like apple does
No one does it like Apple does.

    Scheduled for July 17th.

me 3, now showing build AAM625. but what were the bug fixes?
    -phone crashing/freezing sys.?
    -poor / broken call quality?
    - delayed/unable to send sms?

I hope all of the above!

Just received the update as on Rogers.
Kind of frustrating though. Was never prompted to download the update, it just started downloading.
Which was fine I guess because I was on WiFi. However, right after the download was complete, it just went right into the restart. Never prompted me to continue. Just restarted. Luckily I wasn't doing anything important.
Hopefully just a one time thing, guess I will see next month when the new update comes out.

I manually started it and downloaded, restarted and installed pretty fast! Kinda surprised about that! I manually triggered the update but as far as I know android does it automatically and then you'll get the "N" symbol in the status bar!

Make sure you are using the most current generation sim card that fixed it for me! And yes the big squiggle was flashing during the update!

Nexus/Pixel can and do bypass carriers. My Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 6P always received updates via Google, and both I got on contract via Rogers.

According to CIBC, this update should also fix the issue with Android Pay not working at the debit machines.

I'm aware of the date shown in the email. That is when BlackBerry added the update, but not when Rogers pushed it out.
