I am in the US so I will be waiting until the 31st to order the KEYone, but I was thinking about setting the hub as my convenience button. I have not used Android in years so it really depends how everything is set up.

I saw some reviewers using Google Assistant. Wondering what others have set (or plan to set) as their convenience button?

I'm honestly going to disable it if that is an option. Short cuts give me all I need.

With the convenience key, it can be used in any app/screen. For the physical keyboard shortcuts, you need to be on the home screen.

Does a long-press on the home button not open Google Assistant? Almost every Android device I've used so far does that, regardless of whether it's physical or on-screen.

I have it set to Whatsapp but I rarely use the convenience key anyways.

What is a bit disturbing is that the convenience key automatically is set to mute when using the phone app (taking calls). With my big hands I often happen to press the convenience key while taking a call and suddenly the caller cannot hear me anymore. Takes a second or two to realize what happened.

For the moment I figured no way to disable this or change they convenience keys assignment when using the phone app.

Any inputs or hints greatly appreciated.

I use it to silence / mute media audio only.
    Works like a charm!!
Can one set it to activate DND/silent mode?
Yes you can but then you already have Q to switch between Vibrate / Alarms only / Normal.

Convenience key does work on any app as oppose to keyboard shortcuts that only work on the Home screen

Use the convenient key for something else as you can get the Active Peak to do what you used to do on your BB10 devices which is swept right to Hub and left to homec=screen, really cool app, look it up

Can the convenience key be set to the camera shutter? I like the idea of pressing down on an actual button to take a picture.
