It could be the unread messages, but no, I read them and the counter doesn't reset. It's not the total number of messages, neither.

Most probably just drafts emails.. Just tap into the account, and pinch to view unread (if u have this option enabled)..see what is it actually..

I usually have these draft emails even after the original email has been sent..

Strange got up and checked the hub again and now all zero even though I have unread emails.

I had this issue when I updated the hub...it seemed to sort itself out

I was getting letters instead of numbers, until I shut down Autofill.

go to your setting and set pinch to unread (if that not default). then you pinch the hub with all your accounts and it will show all messages that are unread. then set the swipe right to mark as read and start cleaning it up!
