Well, looks like they've made it on par with buying from carrier and paying $50 unlock fee.
They've also made it roughly the same as buying from the US with exchange (at least when I compared with sending to my mailbox in Washington).

Thoroughly unimpressed with BlackBerry Mobile.
Problem is you can't buy it from Amazon US if you are shipping it to Canada. I already tried.
It's an absolutely disgusting and shameful launch. USA has had dreadful sales for BlackBerry devices for the last few years yet they get to order it factory unlocked before Canada.
I'm extremely disappointed.
Same here. Now what???
We wait and read what the USA buyers have to say...
Ya this is garbage pricing and such a cluster of a release
$729 CAD is not terrible considering that an iPhone 7 32GB is $899 and a Galaxy S8 64GB is $1,035.
Oh yea it's a great price. Just like the PRIV was too.
The PRIV was a niche device for a specific market, people from that market will buy it bla bla bla. Then what, Chen says it was overpriced and then comes out with the dtek50 and you're all like it's a fleet device it's a fleet device! Jesus that thing couldn't even sell when it was immediately discounted from $429 to $299 within a months time and almost stayed permanently at $299 cad...the dtek60 wasn't even sold in stores....SMH.
I'm waiting a few more months and for a larger sample size to see what drama comes with this latest effort. Recent events aren't promising but I'm not surprised.
This niche market they think exists doesn't exist and not only do they not exist they're a dying breed, evidently...
The camera is mediocre I've seen enough videos now to know that the fanboys on CB exaggerate it's merits. Any comparison to other flagships and you're seriously delusional... no wonder BlackBerry went out of the hardware business. All of their user base that remained are seriously living on another planet if they think the crap they've been releasing is of value. The market already spoke and they spoke for like 7 straight years until BlackBerry left the business...open your eyes lolll
Honestly you're better off buying the PRIV for $399 cad if you can find a good one than pay $800 after taxes for this initial production run.
Yeah I have to admit, Canadians really have been shafted by BlackBerry Mobile.
I mean, I get that they want to keep the carriers happy, but not at the expense of the (increasingly sparse) loyal fanbase.
Maybe if they added the toolbelt it'd be worth the $800.../S
Did you buy the PRIV for $899 or whatever it was at launch and think it was worth it? Lolll
Yep it's amazing that some on this site find the camera that good (some even compare it to the Pixel LOL) From what I've seen posted and from me actually using the Keyone for about 4 hrs last week I'd say the photo quality is decent but worse than my Priv although it's faster than the Priv and a LOT worse than my Pixel XL in every way. Either my definition of good quality photos are incorrect or the CB faithful's standards are really that low that they believe the camera is that good.
Yep, but not worth it I admit. The KEYone is far superior to the Priv. I have a Pixel and have used my wifes KEYone a lot. Not much difference in performance and camera for $400 difference.
I would argue the 3 big flagships are the overpriced devices.
Besides, where else you going to find a PKB device this good? Thought so :-)
I did @$799 CAD and thought it was worth it at the time but now looking back I'm thinking what a sucker I was and not making the same mistake again LOL
Are they releasing it tomorrow on amazon? The article crackberry had today said sometime in June for the unlocked versions.
I guess because the cad went down. If you check the exchange rate of today, 549 USD is almost same as 729. The oil kept falling in price... our patrols dollar does not felt well...

If anyone has the Amazon link please post. The u.s one was available a few hours ago and is already sold out.
Yep, it's actually $739.40 CAD so it is definitely in line with US pricing.
Was hope 699 price is going to stick, wishful thinking.
Amazon is back to "pre-order". The initial sales might have been a glitch on Amazon in the US and maybe Canada will be able to order at the same time. Alternatively, US sold out in a just a few hours. And that was only the GSM version, the CDMA version (i.e., the Verizon version) was never available for sale, just for pre-order.
680 at Rogers then u can unlock.
for 50 bucks so then 730 and NOT factory unlocked. Nah!
Who even pays for carrier unlocking?
You can get 3rd party prices for 1/3 of the price.
I had to once for a Z10 that I had because 3rd party could not get a code for it and it was a Roger's Z10 originally. I tried 4-5 different companies so I ended up getting it done from Rogers. I've got some threads about it on CB here.
Reliable and usually quicker.
