Would this potentially solve issues with Verizon no-signal?
Not if you installed from a Windows PC.

Just remove your device password, boot into fastboot mode, plug in the device, and double click on one of the four batch files (sh for Mac, bat for Windows - and wipe or no wipe).

I just did all that, nothing happens, just the .sh file opens up in textedit and that's it

I'm not a Mac guy, but are you sure you unzipped the file, and are not just looking into the archive?

Yup, the .sh file by default opens up in textedit, which we all know won't actually initiate anything.

I installed the blackberry drivers prior to doing this by the way

Well, hopefully one of the other Mac users will pipe up.

If I copy all the text in the .sh file and paste it into Terminal, I get this

If you look closely at the bottom, it says "loader is not valid for this device variant..."

    I have UK Black Edition

Remove your device password, boot into the bootloader menu, plug it in, and run the autoloader. You can start with the no-wipe option.

    You mean the bootloader menu?

From off, hold the power button and the down volume button until you see a menu.
