There is an Update application in the application drawer. It was is no longer part of the Settings menu system.

I don't understand why you are in app info?

What happens when you open up the "Update" app and push check for update?

Go to the APPS, Widgets and Shortcuts section from the main screen. Update is an actual app listed there. You can type Update in the search menu if you don't want to scroll down to locate it. you can use Universal search as well. good luck

Because as an Android user, this the usual place to go.

It confused the hell out of me when I first got my phone and saw it wasn't there. It took me a bit to find that BlackBerry moved it to a standalone app of their own.
