Is it true the new versions have unsightly glue visible at the edge?

I'm worried because I've seen some notations by posters here and elsewhere that the new versions that have obtained the TCL fix for the pop out screen have unsightly glue visible when viewed from the edge or otherwise. In that case I would like to buy one that has NOT been glued. Where can I get that?

I haven’t seen that. But why would you prefer to buy one without extra glue? If it falls out and rips the cable you’ve got a problem.

Meh - I've seen a few Classic's like that as well.

are there any pictures of this extra glue?

I use my phone as a tablet/laptop replacement & never carry it anywhere... I will never be able to tolerate the glue if it is unsightly. If the screen pops out, it's TCL's problem...

I wonder if there never was any design provision for glue they now just slather in the edge...

No glue on my July purchase from Amazon.

Can you provide some examples for the curious types of what you speak?

I wish I could but I have quite frankly never seen nor touched one ever. However I did find those notations here on CrackBerry and there were pictures... maybe in the Australia waiting thread. I suggest you use the search. It was not long ago.

This is the basis of your concern? My advice is don't buy a phone because as soon as you touch the screen it will be forever marred with fingerprints.

I hope it is true. Then I would know I have a corrected device.

I can't believe TçL would do a sloppy repair rather I see them just replacing the device the putting the broken device into the rehab section and get it ready for replacements down the line.

hmm, shine a bright light, examine closely you can see glue with the right angle, okay. At least now you know what KeyOne version you have.

This was just my experience, I've never held 2 key ones in AU to officially check. TBH though you won't notice it! Unless you closely examine the phone. On a scale of how noticeability it is, a fingerprint would be a 10 and this glue would be a 2.

Also I think your biggest concern after the screen issue, is actually the clicky upper back cover! It's super annoying!!!

Yeah I made a thread about it and people said it was normal, so I guess I just have to live with it.

2 Phones now that have back covers that make a sound (Priv & Keyone)
