Does anyone know if the travel charger included in the box for the KEYone is QC 3.0? My gut feel is no, unfortunately.

From what I can read on the picture:
    • Model: QC10US 712266
    • P/N: CBA0060AGHC1 20198B
    • PRI: 100-240V ~50/60Hz 0.5A
    • SEC: 5.0V 2A / 9.0V 1.67A

The 9 Volt, 1.67 Amp rating tells you that it is a Quick Charger.

A normal charger is only rated at 5 Volts.

I'm not sure if you can say that equivocally since the quick charge not only requires the power but also the chip.

The phone supports Quick Charge 3 and it comes with a Quick Charge compatible charger.

The charger doesn't need a special chip in it because it is the phone that controls the charging process.

It appears that the charger also has to be certified as per the Quick Charge website - https://www.qualcomm.com/products/features/quick-charge

As the travel charger pictured has the UL symbol on it that indicates certification as being of the Quick Charge variety. However, the UL symbol does is used for both certifying Quick Charge 2.0 and 3.0, therefore it may take a bit more poking around to find out if the travel adapter in the KEYone is 3.0 specific - although it is likely. The charger that came with my PRIV also has the UL symbol on it, and we know that is 2.0.

I now see that the difference between QC2 and QC3 is that there can be negotiation between the phone and the charger to set the current delivered to the phone.

I doubt that the included travel charger allows for QC3 negotiation since there is no QC3 certification logo on it. Take a look at this Anker QC3 charger: https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=pdRqpGD_

It has exactly the same specs as the UK one. That has charged my K1 from 5-100% in under two hours while I was using the phone to browse at the same time.

Well folks, here's the answer. I sent BB a message through their website which they didn't respond to, so I followed up with a call to their call centre today. After about 15 min or so on hold (after I connected to an agent) they confirmed the travel adapter that comes with the KEYone is not QC 3.0. If you want to take full advantage of the phone's charging speed, you'll need to purchase separate chargers for the task.

The charger appears (from the label) to be QC2.0.

It's still awfully nice for an "in the box" charger.....
