What is your general location / rural or urban and how is the reception? I'm kicking the idea around but the reception possibly being crap scares me

Jersey City / New York City and service is good. Went to a wedding this past weekend somewhere in NJ and I was the only one with services inside the reception hall. My friends mostly have IPhones on TMobile and AT&T network. I think you'll be good!!

No real issues in Seattle. Was in the real boonies a few weeks ago and I was able to make and receive calls but I did not do extensive testing.

North Boston, no issues except for one subway stop. Same reception problem as the PRIV so I'm assuming it's Verizon, not the phone.

Verizon user here. Travel a ton, mostly up and down the east cost. Zero reception issues. Same as my PRIV or Classic

I live in New Hampshire in a town that doesn't get great reception regardless. My wife has an iPhone, and we get the same reception at my house (1-2 bars of 1X - enough to make/receive calls, and send/receive texts. MMS is usually a no-go.) In our neck of the woods, Verizon is the only game in town. I work near Manchester, and I have full service 4g there and on highways. No issues with dropped calls or cutting out.

I only have one issue. Not sure if it is the KeyOne or Verizon (my old windows phone had the same problem): If I don't touch the phone, I will make it almost all the way to Manchester (45 min) without it switching to 4g, even though I can get 4g 5 min from my house! I have to turn on/off airplane mode to get it to connect. I'm now in the habit of doing this every morning on my way to work. Slightly annoying, but not a big deal.

    KeyOne is awesome. Good luck!

Check with Verizon, if you need wi-fi calling. They told me no, that with the small keys, changed my mind on buying it.

It exceeds the reception quality of my Verizon iPhone. Call quality is better too. I'm in central PA.

Chicago here. Commute 30 miles each way daily, and not had a drop talking on the phone the entire trip. I've not had a problem anywhere in the surrounding area either, from Wisconsin, to central Illinois, to Indiana and Michigan.

And this could be a serious issue, although I have considered buying a signal booster for my work. It's the only place I need WiFi calling due to the metal building

I'm about an hr. from Nashville and 80 miles from Chattanooga in the TN countryside. I have only noticed 2 dead spots. But, overall, good reception. My first CDMA KeyOne had a space bar issue and reception issues. This one has been great.

    Hi jcrutch,

I am in NE Ohio. Where did you get your Verizon KeyOne model? Are you happy overall? I have a Priv but have been kicking around the idea of switching to KeyOne.

    Thanks for your feedback.
