Is there any way to force an update that you haven't yet received, without using an autoloader? If I'm waiting for the October update for as long as I waited for the September one, it'll be November before I get it!

Okay I've entered advanced mode using the password fotaapp*#1221# . Where do I get the update file to update manually?

Depends. What is the PRD of your device?

    PRD-63117-003

I believe it is that. my carrier is Vodafone UK and my keyone is on contract with CPW.

it seems that the UK unlocked PRD doesn't have an update for October yet. so I've used the fota test option to emulate the US unlocked PRD and I'm now downloading AAP683. I hope it works on my BBB100-2

I've just read that I shouldn't install an older OS on top of a newer one, which is what I've done by loading AAO548 over AAP638. so my question is - have I broke the updater?

Does this FOTA Update reset the phone to factory default or does it act like normal OTA update keeping all settings? I know autoloader does, but that's a different thing right? Sorry, never did Updates out of the ordinary on a BlackBerry.

Second can I skip the first october update AAP* when updating my 63117-011 to simulated 63117-034? Both variants does have my current September AAO* firmware. So does it push AAQ* (KRACK fix) right away?

From looking at the code for the updater app itself the access point for advanced mode has been bricked up; the mode is still there, just inaccessible. You'll have to wait, or load an autoloader if you can't.

Normal OTA, and yes, you can jump from AAO472 to AAQ302 by simulating PRD-63117-034.

It will keep all of your settings yes and it will automatically skip to latest OS for the emulated 63117-034. My 100-2 now runs AAQ302 thanks to fota test in advanced mode.

Edit: thurask beat me to it!

Oh man! How bad are autoloaders on Android? and how long does it take to reload stuff? Man I hate this! Anyway to get the old apk for Update app? Lol. I won't get updates since I'm not in the UK

There are modified update apps, but they don't have the system permissions of the actual one and therefore don't work.

As for autoloaders, you have the option of disabling the parts that overwrite user data, meaning you can update your version without losing your data. The hard part is finding the material to make autoloaders from, though. This is the latest one: https://forums.crackberry.com/blackb...oader-1129582/

I used code PRD-63117-019 and emulated current version to AAM481, my KeyOne Black Edition downloaded the update then it fails when it is actually trying to install. Tried it twice .

I think it gave me an error code 3301

Same for me unlocked Keyone UK used exact same method.

My PRD is 633117-035. One thing I'm curious about is if the 035 gets a different update am I screwed for future updates? And would there be any reason for it to receive a different version?
