Sometimes, when I tap the Hub I get this defective screen: account removed, remove thsi widget. When I close this box down and retap the Hub, it opens properly w all my emails, etc.

    Any suggestions?

I think you have removed your Gmail Account from Hub so you can press three dots and remove the widget

The widget is the Hub itself icon and I have multiple email accounts and haven't removed anything prior to receiving this message.

Does this occur when you swipe up on the icon (rather than just tapping)?

I don't know how to swipe and icon. So, no, it's tapping. And it's not all the time. But frequently, daily.

Are you quite sure you're not accidentally swiping sometimes?
Why not try swiping a couple of time and see if you can reproduce your issue consistently? Just place your finger on the icon and then move your finger up slightly before letting go.

You may also want to disable pop-up widgets if you aren't using them. It's an option in the BlackBerry Launcher settings.

Do you know what a "regular" widget is?

A pop-up widget basically allows you to save space on the launcher by only showing a widget when you swipe up on the relevant icon. I think they generally open a bit faster than the actual app.
As an example, you might sometimes find opening the pop-up widget of the Calendar (by swiping up on the calendar icon) to be nicer than opening the full calendar App. Of course you could just have the calendar widget visible on the launcher at all times, but that does take up a lot of space.

The issue in your case is that you never setup the hub widget, so it doesn't work properly.

The BlackBerry Launcher is the page where you put your App icons.
I think you access the settings by long pressing anywhere on the launcher and then choosing Settings.

Ok. the Blackberry Launcher is the round white button w the six dots at the bottom of the home page screen.

yes, if you open it (didn't need to long press) and the press settings, there is an option to disable swipe apps. Thanks.
