They did confirm on FB that they will be unlocked, at least in the US.

About 1:1.
Yes, I think you're right. It's a difficult balancing act for BlackBerry Mobile here. My guess is that TCL and the Carriers will wait to see how the Canadian launch goes to gather as much data as possible for their demand models.

The comment about it being overpriced has beaten to death. KEYone is not over priced for the value you get for the phone
BTW: Pixel and S7 are not Free just as a $199 phone isn't $199.00.

Hoping that 18th pre-order holds true for Canada which would bode well for us in the US hoping for good things on the 31st.
LMAO, O heck yeah dude! I hate slabs, didn't even blink over dteks!!! If it ain't got a PKB it ain't worth using, so, what was your point! LOL! A BB without a PKB is like a car without an engine.
This entire release has been one giant cluster f@!? Considering they announced the damn thing months ago.
You are free not to buy one, and move on with your life.
That'll teach 'em!
Better yet send them an email. Use the one you (pre) registered with....
Email arrived today for the US. No pre-orders as expected but clear reaffirmation of the May 31 date for availability.
Without strong carrier commitment, they need to sell direct to take care of their consumers. I hope they sell 1M units direct and clear $100m in direct profits. To heck with the carriers.

Wow in Canada I only got an email that I can pre-order it from Rogers, whom I'm not even a customer of, and do not want a locked version. ARGHH.
Got my email BlackBerry Mobile USA yesterday about same time of day as now.
