Followed your directions, and it is "snappier" for sure! One question: Why do I want the second option set to OFF vs .5x? Just curious as to what the difference would be. Thanks!
.5 is just as good but it allows some animations,, off you don't have any. So let's say if you have it set .5 when you hit the recent button you can literally watch your app Zuma way too close if you have it in the off position when you tap the recent button it instantly goes away it just makes it way faster in my opinion .5 is still too slow for me

Don't no if this is a known tip, but just turned on developer options, reduced window, transition animation and scale to .5 what a difference. Apps open immediately. Very pleased. Sorry if you already found this out.
    Hi OP,

Thank you so much for this little tip. What a world of difference. Wish I had know this before.

    You are awesome!

It has nothing to do with the size of the fonts or the apps, but the speed in which they open. So if you put the setting on ".5" instead of "1", it will load TWICE AS FAST.

Try it out for yourself and see if you like it. You can always switch it back.
So why would Blackberry set it to a slower speed if the result was the same?

Im playing around with 'Smallest Width' option too...

i set it to 520 and it lets me put TWO more apps at the bottom and one more row of apps on each screen. Pretty sweet

Need to keep "animator duration scale" to .5 or more or you won't see the green half moon boost mode notification. The other 2 are set to off.
what is boost mode notification ??

Yep. Be careful though. Remember what settings it was on. Take a screen shot of the settings, that's what I do. Have fun. Dev options are cool, but there's a reason they are Dev Options.

First thing I do on any Android device.

Second is to clear cached data and reboot when it gets above 1GB.
How do you clear cached data?

Ignore; I just figured it out.

Yea that's why I'm reluctant. I modified the animation settings to speed things up but that's it. I sniffed around a little bit but I'm not sure which setting is for the icons. Don't want to royally mess something up.

SO true, but it's hard to mess something up that can be easily changed back. Thanks for the response!
