I have personalised the phone with the sounds I wanted yet there is one that sometimes the phone makes but for the life of me I can't understand to which app is related, when it makes this noise I pick up the phone and nothing shows (no messages, no events, no nothing..), so it gives me no clue on how to trace the provenance of this noise, I end up screaming at the phone "what the hell do you want?" but so far that's not helping either. Any clue where I should look? Thanks

did some googling and lot of people had this issue with NFC. is there a way your phone is in proximity of a NFC token/card? other people mentioned similar symptoms when they changed the password for an email account and did not update it on the phone.

    Yes. It's probably a notification.

Oh yes, the email account with new password is a plausible one, not my case now but I'll keep that in mind for the future. The NFC I don't think so as I've had it happening in different places.

Yes it is most likely a simple notification as it plays one of the default sounds, but on the display there's nothing that makes me understand what it could be.

I don't see a SETTINGS widget? I have Developer Mode on. What does it look like?

I found it another way - using an app called Shortcut Maker.

I don't recall that. I think what you do is find the settings icon in the regular app list and drag it to the phone front page and it will open options dialog by itself from which you select notifications history... done

    OK what to do:

    long press to open widgets
use top to move to shortcuts section
scroll to find "Settings" gear icon
long press and move a bit more
    drop on home screen
    long dialog opens spontaneously
    select "notifications history"

you may NOT have Settings icon already on any home page, if so remove it before beginning
