    Having the phone close to the PC speaker I noticed a cracking sound (see attachment).

    Since this was coing over 2 minutes (until I restarted), it seems that the phone at some point continuously was sending some 4G signal, although no SMS came and also the mobile internet connection was switched off. After a restart the speaker was silent.

    Any idea why this happened?

    The only time I notice radio interference affecting my shortwave radio is when Wi-Fi disconnects and then mobile data kicks in and I'll get some interference.
