Welcome to Android. 12% of Android devices worldwide on Oreo, 75% of Apple devices on iOS 11.

I'm ignorant of the issue. So all iPhones are now running 12.1 beta?

I believe his variant won't install the Autoloader. Something to do with his Carrier.

How many more threads are you going to open or participate in about this issue ? Suggest you contact your carrier and tell them that unless you get the update you will have no choice but to move to another carrier.

No, most iphone 5s and up has iOS 12.0 upgrade available (likely most of them will be upgraded by the owner) and some of them (that have upgraded) can access 12.1 beta program.

I have IOS 12 on iPad and iPhone 8 Plus. What’s the correlation between Android, IOS and BBAndroid? One is through Apple which controls the distribution, not any carrier. One is through Google which pushes through carriers and OEMs based on multiple factors. The last is through a partnership of two separate companies, one software and one hardware, and both rely on the Android framework with carriers additionally.

It’s comparing Apples, Grapefruits and BlackBerrys.

You did a nice job of illustrating the fundamental problem leading to extraordinarily delayed software updates for TCL BlackBerries. There's another layer of complexity in the process, versus a company like Apple that has it completely streamlined.

    Markets vary a lot.

Google Phones like the Nexus and Pixel... haven't really sold all that well. But they have raised the awareness of how things should be done.

I expect that if you pulled out Tablets and some "3rd World Markets" those numbers would look very different.

In the US, majority of Android phones sold are Samsung... Most of those are going to be pretty current. While I'm sure sales of Blu and Alcatel phones add up, and those don't generally get any updates... they are a clear minority.

Android One (Nokia has really embraced) will change the updates levels for mid and low priced phones going forward. Many of the devices on Google's Enterprise Approved list, use Android One.

Project Treble is also "suppose" to improve the update process... a lot more people are already on PIE right now than in years past. But have yet to see what that really means for normal users.

VZW sucking doesn't absolve TCL/BB Mobile from failing to support a device they said they would on VZW.

And to those who are bringing up the sorry state of Android Updates overall. Yeah, it's true that a good chunk of devices are also behind the times, but the majority of said devices are no-name budget phones. The Keyone cost $550 MSRP, it should get the appropriate level of support.
