Simple question... Should BlackBerry call the Mercury the DTEK70, or something else? Perhaps a hat tip or tribute to one of the originals?

They SHOULD call it something else but it'll likely be a DTEKxx lol. While I get the DTEK branding, it's just...meh.

Well, they've invested in the branding of "DTEK" now, so DTEKxx. How long before BlackBerry becomes DTEK? ;P

If it's an in house device, which it seems to be, it should be called something different. Leave the DTEK naming convention for the outsource phones.

But I'm sure for the sake on marketing/branding it will be the DTEK something.

Might sound tacky/corny, but maybe something along the lines of "BlackBerry Legacy" ??

Mercury or simply, 70, would be better, but of course, it's unfortunately still gonna be a DTEK.

I like the DTEK naming convention and I hope the "Mercury" continues the 50-60-70 line. Although this probably is meaningless since it will be the last device, I shudder to think that it could be named by the same people who named the LEAP and the PRIV. I hope those two names, and the angst that they created with almost everyone when they were first introduced will temper any bad feelings towards the DTEK name. Just my opinion.

I liked the one suggestion from wayyyy back of DTEK5000. Make it some ridiculous number to be remembered by.

They should call it BlackBerry Business. They need to focus on core values. Then hopefully we'll see a Business 1,2,3,4 etc in the future

Would you rather your phone be called "PRIV" which is one syllable. Or this
    "Galaxy S7 Edge"
    "iPhone 7s Plus"

Phones with one syllable or two were always the best
    Nexus
    Bold
    Classic
    Desire

I also liked the M7, M8 and M9 because it sounds like James Bond.

DTEK is still better than what Samsung does.

I very much preferred the BlackBerry code names for their handsets. Since this would be the last, should stick with mercury.

DTEK sounds horrible. They have lost their branding power by going with DTEK. Sounds like a washing machine serial number. Phone business is dying / dead, other premier Silicon Valley firms will crucify them in mobile security. They had an opportunity and blew it.

How about... just "BlackBerry" with no added name. Or, if we must have one... call it the "BlackBerry Omega", "BlackBerry ω", "BlackBerry Ω"
