I find the screenshot frustrating. Often it goes to restart, one key dominating. Hitting both keys at just the right time is hit and miss.
Is there a way to create a shortcut for screenshots?

would love to know this
I would suggest slightly pressing the volume down first right as you press the power button, I take so many screens, I'm a profession lol I've yet to have it not work as intended with any device, maybe they can include a "ctrl+s" in a later update, but you still dealing with two buttons. Perhaps a 3rd party app would work best for you if you're finding the stock option inconsistent
Would be nice to be able to map to the convenience key
I use button remapper to long press the home button and take screen shots
Same way long press back button to get the notification panel
You may use this and ease your life.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...18aed17e0c.jpg
Do you press either first? I try to be simultaneous. I am at abt 40percent. Similar experiences w PRIV. Sometimes it's flawless and other times, I'm just not getting the timing right?
I use notable:

yeah I hate this....i thought my phone had a fault but I'm told it's and android thing.
if only the actual setting can be found, then it might work being set in the convenience key. I use Nova Launcher, looked in the "activities" and unable to find it. might be somewhere else.
This. If you guys don't want to use hardware buttons, this is always available.
I don't think so... I never had the same problem on my DTEK50... What I've noticed about the K1 is that you need to hold the two buttons in a bit longer, while on the DTEK50 a quick press was enough. Maybe it's a Nougat thing...
My Convenience Key is setup to screen capture. You should have the BlackBerry app Notable installed by default. Just assign the screen capture shortcut to the Convenience Key and voilá. It's a great shortcut because not only it does a screen capture but it also lets you edit with an any-color brush and a text entry. Finally it adjusts the image size to make it more share friendly.

The only issue with Notable is the default sound it makes with a screen capture. There's no setting to turn the sound off.
The problem with notable is that the pictures are all stored within the app. Would be nice if they went to the screenshots folder.
I suppose if I did particularly want a screen shot there I could use the conventional two button method.
Thanks a million that was a great idea!!!
My wife said the same thing after switching from the Dtek50 to the KEYone - I tried it out and there definitely is a noticeable difference in the length of time you need to hold the buttons on the KEYone.
How do you assign the "screen capture shortcut" as there is nothing listed like that as a separate app? If I assign notable, it opens the app and doesn't take a screenshot. Never has taking a screenshot been so incredibly frustrating and difficult. Miss my BB Passport right about now.
I don't see how to assign the convenience key in Notable.
I go to settings and don't see that as an option.
How do you do it?
You don't do it in notable, you do it in the regular android settings.
Go to settings > convenience key > all shortcuts. You will then see an option for "capture and annotate"
Bob is your mum's brother.
Got it. Works. Thanx!
One more thing. You don't really need to waste the convenience key on this.
Just go into the notable app settings and switch on " show capture notification in notification tray"
Now all u need to do when u want to take a screenshot is pull down the notification menu from the top of the screen. Convenience key is now freed up for something else.
Personally, I don't like seeing that all the time in the Notification tray.
For anyone using Google Assistant, it's built in. When in any app, just hold the home key and you'll see the option to share a screenshot. From the Home screen, just say or type "screenshot" or "take a screenshot" and presto.

But after I take a screenshot, where is the screenshot so I can send it to BBM or email or text?? It's not in the Photos app.
Notable is bad to access when on other screens like trying to attach on FB for example so I removed it from the convenience key!?
