@thurask, thanks for the FOTA trick with the Update app - very useful. I notice there is an update manually option, but it requires a saved file. Is there a way to save the AAO update from the autoloader to the SD and apply it using the app? I'm on 63117-003 which is still on July.

I know how to get delta files but I don't know where to put them so the updater app can pick them up. In your case you'd need to update from AAM481 to AAN358 and then to AAO472, assuming we can get manual updating working in the first place.

Thanks. I looked inside the Updates APK and there is a filename check consisting of:
- checking whether "JSU" exists in the filename
- splitting on an underscore
- checking whether the right side of the split matches the CU of the phone

So renaming the AAO472 update to JSU_63117-003 and placing it in the right folder should do the trick in theory, but I haven't been able to get it to work unfortunately.

Updated manually using bootloader/autoloader mode! This was a genius find from @thurask!! Took me only about 10-15 minutes to do it all, currently restoring everything from backup. Will report back any findings if they come up, question, does anyone know if once you update via autoloader, does this not allow you to update via OTA? Or should future updates comve via the on-board updater tool?

OTA updates require specific initial OS versions and specific phone models; as long as you're on an OS that's been released for your phone model at some point, then you should be able to get the next update OTA. The BBB100-1 and BBB100-2 all have AAO472 available on at least one model, so that should enable future OTA updates.

Total disgrace. Half way through September and still on the July update. UK unlocked.

I have a Canada factory unlocked KeyONE (thanks ShopCrackBerry). I got the update last week - same day Bla1ze's article came out. It was downloaded in the background. I only found out when I got a notification from the Updates app that the download has occurred and completed and it is waiting to be installed.

EDIT: to clarify... the update was AA0472
