Is there a way to send messages in Google Messenger and WhatsApp by hitting the enter key on the keyboard?

Id like to know too. and i wish there was a way it would directly go into typing mode rather than having to hit the text pad and then send icon afterwards.

check your options within each app, not every app has it

    Logical responses?

You should know how to move down texts, it's with alt enter.

Choosing to "send by enter" is per app, not system wide on Android.

Not even app is designed the app, most app do not have enter to send on default .

Please go through each app setting to find out if it has it.

    I know whatsapp has it.

alt + enter is not supported on the Android messaging app. I also think it's a good idea to not have send to enter as an option (without using alt, at least), especially with it being so close to the delete key.

I use Textra as my messaging app and enter to send is an option. The app has awesome customization options as well. I RARELY hit the enter key when I'm trying to delete something.

allo just recently added enter to send as an option but i use yaata for sms and it also has the option. every app is going to be different, its just up to the developer to add the option.

I used the stock Google Messages the first day or two, then tried Textra. Textra is a wonderful app! especially with the chat windows that pop up so you don't need to go into the app (ie. the shortcut for "Compose New Text" brings up a small window at the top without opening the app. Also same if you're in HUB, doesn't leave hub to send a reply). You can even customize the vibration pattern! Definitely will purchase once the trial is over!
