    Hi all,

    Is there a best way of using the sd card memory as compared with the use of the Main Storage?

    What's your preferred use for it?

    I prefer to use it as external storage because if u format as internal u risk losing everything if something happens to the SD card. Not worth the risk to me...especially given the storage issues the KEYone had / has.

    What I hate is Android no longer lets you store all the app data on the external card. I realize it was a security risk but it was one I preferred taking and I would think I should get the choice. But I guess they thought different.

    That was an issue when devices had less than 16GB internal storage before the OS was installed. Now that devices come with a minimum of 32GB, it's not really an issue.

    Besides, you are still able to transfer some apps to the SD card. I have pretty much every app I can transfer over moved to the SD card.

    Do tell, how do you put applications on the SD Card? There used to be a setting that said "move data to SD card" but I don't see that setting on any of my applications.

    Yes, details please, as I have not found that option of moving any apps to my SD card.

    I was making sure I wasn't remembering a different phone, so I had to double check it! Settings > Apps > tap an app (I used the Amazon Shopping app for reference) > tap Storage > tap Change > tap the storage location you prefer.

    Note: this doesn't work for all apps, and can cause some weird things to happen. You will not be able to use widgets from an app on the SD Card, for example.

    DO NOT Use as internal. cards fail and you'll never get your data back if it's internal encrypted... ALWAYS back up off device (computer, cloud, or both)...

    I wonder why you get that option and I don't? I checked my Priv and KeyOne and neither has that options on the applications???
