Which one do you use/prefer? I find really difficult to have a fluid experience with keyboard scrolling. I keep insisting on it, though. A workaround is to turn the screen in landscape mode which works incredibly better, or even use the spacebar key to scroll down when supported.

I know the keyboard doesn't work like the Privs, I wish it did. I have to use the screen on the KEYone

I found the best keyboard scrolling to be on the Passport...with the BlackBerry browser. I guess nothing beats a matching hard- and software.

I do hope keyboard scrolling will become better with software update or KeyOne2 ;-)

On the PRIV it's smooth and responsive to your finger, no lag. Not so much on the K1. At least in my experience and comparison.

How can it be software related?

Scrolling on the keyone is pretty much responsive only on the top 2 rows of the keyboard (Q and A row)..

try this, take one of your finger (I use my pinky), then do a tiny scrolling motion (up and down) only on one letter on either top 2 rows. in this case, take the T letter. it does scroll. then try letter G. do the same (up and down). still scrolls. now move on the V letter. the up and down doesnt work (vertically). however, left to right (horizontally) works.. move on to the last bottom row, horizontal scrolling works, but vertical doesnt..

not sure if mine is defective or its the same in general with other keyones..

I have a k1Black, mine works on any row of keys, it acts like my Passports keyboard in that scrolling works best when phone is flipped and you can then scroll from a to z or alt to $.

Well you have to tell the hardware how to react to your scrolling...and this for different environments (browser, menues,..). This part normally is called 'software'.

How much BlackBerry is a able to tweak it is another thing.

I was actually wondering if the Black version works smoother here as the keyboard apparently seems to be a bit better compared to the silver one?

    Waiting for K1 rev.1

I think this pretty much sums up my scrolling experience too. Scrolling on the keyboard in portrait mode - is a pain ...

Even on the PRIV the keyboard scrolling wasn't consistent. It just spotty on blackberry android as a whole. It is slightly worse on the keyone. It was in fact the best on the passport. On the passport, it was a pain in the butt for one handed scrolling though.

Does anyone know where the sensors are that detect scrolling? Are they in the keys or in the frets? I know this doesn't really add to the subject here but I'm curious and it's sort of related... :P

I've seen people stating that the keys themselves are sensitive and not the frets.

Scrolling on PKB on Priv is amazing. Smooth and very responsive. However, on the KEYone it is not as satisfying and efficient when scrolling on the PKB.

Scrolling on PKB is buggy, stutters like crazy, hardly a smooth experience, and compared to on-screen scrolling, you need the quadruple amount of scrolls to get to the bottom or top of a page. Everything I said becomes worse when you're scrolling on a page that has pics or ads. I actually thumb-scroll on the screen. The keyboard-scrolling experience is not yet there where it should be. which is a waste as it is one of their "selling points".

It is easier to use the screen to scroll. The way I hold the phone puts my thumb naturally on the bottom third of the screen and that makes for easy scrolling.

Keyboard scrolling is OK and usable. I find it works best with a light touch, not pushing too hard with thumb /finger.

one thing that helps me scroll better is using the pad of my thumb, not the tip. this covers more of the keys when scrolling and has been a lot better for the scrolling motion.

doing this makes the scrolling a lot more like my Passport Silver Edition, which was awesome to scroll with.
