Trust me, that's not why I'm doing the repair.

I would hate to set up this phone again and would hate to wait another few months to get another one that I'm not even sure it's fixed.

    I'm somewhat handy. LOL.

it's not about that it's about the hassle of sending it back some ordered International.

it's sad to have to deal with it but I'm prepared to do a self repair if my screen ever lifts

I know, but....really can't go down to that level. This is just low, users purchasing a $600 tax in device outright experiencing basic issues on top of that super gluing devices because it takes a month to see a replacement unit.

TCL should be embarrassed. There should be no defense.

I had the screen of death on my 9900, I had the random restart on the Z, I downloaded the iOS 9 to my iPhone that disabled my cellular service. My camera lens did not shatter on my LGV20, my battery did not explode on my Note 8, I do have a yellow tinge to my S8+...it's not specific to Blackberry.

I'm a fan of whatever I'm using at the time and while I expect quality I realize that's idealistic and there's a margin of error in the fabrication of these things. After reading this forum while waiting for this device, I almost talked myself into canceling- I am glad I did not! I figured I have enough experience with all sorts of handset issues and I lived.

Here's the pics of the screen.

    THERE'S ACTUALLY GLUE!

Looks like it's all around. The parts that didn't have glue on the chasis, had glue on the screen. The entire left side has glue on the screen side, but not the chasis side as shown on my initial pics.

So the question now is. If there's actually glue all around, what's going on? Did they use cheap glue? Not enough glue?

Excellent pictures, but what total joke about the phone build, any phone by any maker should not have this kind of issue and not with the price tag this phone has.
There clips to secure the screen. The glue is more of a sealant by the looks of these pictures.

No, sorry. I have just seen many people say not to use super glue. I suppose a search would bring up something.

if that's true, then the screen shouldn't even come off. As of right now, i can just lift up with the suction cup. The resistance is less than that of a post it note.

I wonder how many more will do this.

What some fans won't do to protect the name.
Lol, indeed, from the threads I've read here, there are people prepared go extremely far to protect BB.

Wow, wonder how many that makes on this forum now. This subject should be made a sticky by now ( sorry).
I was thinking the same, there really should be a sticky about this especially seeing as this is where BlackBerry are sending people for support.

    Feels soft.

To be honest. Not trying to be funny. It feels like ShoeGoo. If you've ever used that. Kinda like those gummy tape holding test cologne cards onto magazine inserts. But a lot thinner.

i will admit after a year with curve or bolds i did have two sided tape or elastic band to hold the rear or phone together lol.

But that was 2000s. Were at such an age that if CB were an independant forum i feel there would be a notice to US customers to be cautious.

Unlike Canadians next door, it seems many here are waiting upwards of weeks on replacement decisions by bbm. Sucks we cant just walk into a carrier and replace.

Really strange if their is glue and clips to hold the screen in place, guess it is either a poor design or poor assembly on these phones. Hoping it is just poor assembly.

Not all are haters, yes I agree some are. I myself couldn't feel confident that it wouldn't happen to me until I was sure I was getting one after they fix the problem at the factory.
