The rumors and leaks about a black KEYᵒⁿᵉ are too many to ignore. What about rumored improved specs? If they eventually are available worldwide (with improved specs) those who do not have a KEYᵒⁿᵉ, and have wanted one, are you glad that you'll have this option?
If you have one already, would you want one of these, instead?
What about price? Would you pay more than the cost of the current one?
This is, of course, still in the speculative realm at this point. But it is fun to think about.

From reading the online stories/rumor mills. It looks more to be one site chasing another. One site quotes this thread as proof.

Seems like it's official. It will be for Brazilian market first, but will roll out worldwide. I might pick this one.

There's something so professional and sexy about my KEYᵒⁿᵉ, and the way it feels naked in my hand. To get a Brazilian, and immediately want to cover it up, it better be amazing inside to motivate me.

So the question becomes. If the phone is produced in Brazil for that market would it be usable in the US? I never really understand all the GSM bands and where they are used. If TCL isn't going to release a black version for the US market (or not for a long time), than I'll give up on a super/spec black Key one, and buy the regular one (once I'm convinced that I'm getting gluey stock).

I have a suspicion it'll just be the international model shipped disassembled, and screwed (and hopefully glued) together to qualify as "made in Brazil". That said, the international model KEYone (BBB100-2) has most but not all of the bands to get around in the USA, missing just the accessory bands for faster LTE (29/30).

You mean TCL will be involved somehow? Judging from most of the apologist responses here, BlackBerry Mobile is just a "start up" and we should expect them to screw everything up haha.

The black looks cool but I never run my device naked so it really doesn't matter all that much to me. As far as better specs go, my KEYᵒⁿᵉ is running just fine so another item that isn't a big deal to me. I don't think it will have any better specifications than the current KEYᵒⁿᵉ, just an all black device.

Parts are cheaper and for China/Japan, the argument has always been that their CDMA networks need it and there's been a bit of a specs race in those areas when it comes to RAM and device capacity. More is better for marketing.

As for me I don't mind the glossy keys. I think they look great and they aren't harder to use. But I am fine with either one. I just think it is awesome to be discussing whether the keys are glossy or not instead of whether we will have a new pkb device or not. 😀
