Over the course of the month I have had difficulty with the back home and return button not being tactile enough with a glass screen protector over top of those keys! I did some research and sometimes with oleophobic coatings with another overlay on top does reduce sensitivity! The edge of the bottom of the screen protector was just aligned right at the bottom edge of the bottom buttons cause a responsiveness issue! Been using it for a while now with screen bare and it's soo much more responsive including the back, home and return key!
Overall since the removal of the glass screen protector they keys are more responsive!!!! Anyone else with this issue!

Did you buy the one where it had the cutouts for the triangle, circle, square? I aligned my right smack over the objects with no slight variation and yes there is issues with it not being tactile enough, however I've found if I hold my thumb over it for just a sec more than normal it reacts. Mine still has a slight space between the bottom of the glass and the keyboard. I'm willing to put up with it though because I need the glass protector. I'm still on the lookout for another one the same size without the black bottom and the inserts. All the clear glass protects I've seen only cover part of the screen so I'm not changing jack until I find one that's like this which is rounded on the sides and covers the entire fricken screen.

i think in general the buttons are either too sensitive or not sensitive enough even without the protector. Sometimes it doesn't recognize a tap or recognizes a double tap. Same with and without protection

True but it is even less responsive with the glass protector than when I just had a screen protector over it.

I bought my KeyOne on the first day and Rogers fitted a Gadget Guard Black Ice Edition tempered glass screen protector. Therefore, I never saw the phone operating without a protector. Great screen protector but I did notice that that particular row of keys were somewhat sluggish with the return key being by far the worst. Having read that it was probably a software issue I decide to wait for the August update. Last week I took the plunge and removed the screen protector, very easy and no residue at all. All the keys work so much faster and it is completely like having a new phone. The phone is superb and I have some protection from the BlackBerry flip case. I may try a different type of screen protector at some point.

I have a German privacy screen protector. Don't find a responsiveness issue with the Android buttons. I did, however, have a few anxious moments at airport check-in but that was solved when my device was moved to present the boarding pass code straight on.

I just got an Omyfilm tempered glass protector from Amazon.ca. On the box it says: "Oleophobic Coating, 99% Transparency, High Touch Sensitivity, Bubbles Free, Scratch Resistant, and Fingerprint Resistant". I have to say that all the claims are true. You can see pictures of it on the Amazon site. It has black edges and along the bottom edge there are cut -outs (?) in the same symbols as the back, home and recents keys. It fits very well, is easy to put on and screen sensitivity doesn't seem to be affected much if at all. The only small thing I might say is that I think it would be better if they just had oversized cut-outs for the back, home and recents keys instead of having them the exact size of the ones on the phone. While they still seem to be pretty responsive, I think that it might be hard to put the screen on exactly in the right position so as to not interfere with their operation. All in all I'm very happy with it.

Yesa it's a very high quality glass protector but after this installation. The back key started to reduce sensitivity again! So it's clear now that it needs an update to repair this function. The key is lining up all the soft keys! I'm waiting for the Aug 2wst update slotted for Rogers and hopefully will fix/correct these annoyances!

It happend to me ! put an IMAK Glass for Keyone and the back button (more than the other 2 ) became almost unresponsive all the time. After 2 days trying to use it i put it off and buttons became 100% responsive again...I even tryied to cut the bottom part (the one that cover the buttons) but its impossible since its glass made and became shattered

Was just about to do that!
I'm on my 2nd K1 in about 1.5 weeks, got a replacement anyways I put the 9H on the 1st KeyOne but the buttons were not responsive and it was starting to be annoying! Since the glass was pack of 2, I haven't decided to install it to my new 2nd K1.

I don't understand whats the deal with the K1 and screen protector, is it the Android system? The Passport never had an issue.

I had issues with the screen protector I used... can't recall the Brand, but it will be on another thread about screen protectors (maybe " I found the best screen protector "). It may be YOUJI.

the android geometric shape keys were not 100% responsive... from the start, and quickly got worse. it had the overlay on these keys and it was perfectly aligned.

I got frustrated with the lack of good screen protectors... so going without.

    considering my first flip case.

I like the Stilgut with clip. I've had it on my Priv and now the KeyOne.
