    Few hours after unpacking and setting up the phone, I've got a series of freezes, lags and a permanent pixel-wide vertical red line across my screen. This joke of a phone is going back. Avoid buying it like I did.

    Yep, LCD is defective. Warranty claim is the only thing that you can do. Too bad you will probably have to pay more shipping costs. That is the price for not being patient.

    That's what I'm going to do. This was the last of the 1,000 last chances I gave blackberry. I'd strongly advise not to buy this phone if you don't want to play the usual BlackBerry production quality lottery.

    I am going to order one from amazon US. If it's bad quality, I'll return it.

    Either I'm too lucky or you're terribly unlucky.
    I had mine delivered to Australia from the first batch and it's has no issues whatsoever.

    I would had been very disappointed myself since its not locally available.

    Having used quite a few BB devices starting from the 9000 series devices,I can truly say only one device was defective. Bought a 9900 off contract at Best buy Canada and had a screen issue as well. It was crooked and tilted slightly a few mm to the right and had light leakage on the left border of the screen. Got one exchanged directly otc.

    I'm so sorry that you're going through this. But like many have said, I believe the units that were on sale in UK weren't the 'up to par' units since many of the complaints are coming from those units. Maybe the phone wasn't handled right when shipping? I don't know but the only thing to do is get an exchange.
