This appears in calendar entries despite no request on myself part...

Hangouts, which I never used, is shut off in Google settings (found in Gmail app on web portal).

Likely just spam. Delete it and any reoccurring events and then disable the auto-add. - https://support.google.com/calendar/...13429505?hl=en

To disable the “automatically add invite” function:

Go to Google Calendar on your computer
Click the cog in the upper right, then hit settings
On the list on the left, click “Event settings”
Look for the “Automatically add invitations” option. Change this to “No, only show invitations to which I have responded”

BUT, I found another checkbox (green) which I have now UNCHECKED which I never had seen previously. perhaps that was the culprit !!
