From what I can tell, no shortcut keys apply to the regents screen. What a pity. For me better that they all apply? Or at least a clear all shortcut?

I'm not sure what your question is.
Amen it sucks :(
I think he/she is talking about the multitasking list. The square onscreen button?
Yes I am referring to the multitasking screen - the screen accessed by the square on the right of the O. No shortcuts apply from this screen.
I agree with this! Too often I try and press a keyboard shortcut from the recent open apps screen and of course nothing happens. It would be great if BlackBerry could implement this.
That's because the recent apps screen isn't actually part of the launcher. The BlackBerry launcher has to be active and onscreen for shortcut keys to work.
I feel the same, would be nice if shortcuts would function from within the recents screen as well. @Devhux: are you sure, or is it a guess? I mean, allthough I am not sure about it, I thought the possibility to chose tiles, rolodex or masonry for the recents screen was a BlackBerry thing and not standard Android. So if they can design how the recents screen looks, why not how it works as well...?
Maybe I'm missing something. Why are we trying to do anything from within the recents/app switcher in the first place? If you're wanting to rapidly swap between the last app, just double tap the recents and it will bring up the app used. Switching between multiple apps is better done from the home screen; I'm not aware of extra functionally that the recents screen needs if you're already on the homescreen with 52 buttons to launch things.
Didn't know that about the double tap. Good one, thanks. Point is, if you're for whatever valid or invalid reason in recents - that happens to exist - why not have the 52 buttons shortcut funcionality from there?
Not sure why one would need a shortcut key when the square button is the shortcut key to get to the recent screen? Like are you saying you would rather have say the "R" key for recent rather then clicking the square button? Seems a little useless in my opinion.
Edit: okay I re-read the post and now I realize people are asking for shortcuts to be accessible from the recent screen. Okay that makes more sense.
Initially I was in agreement, why not? It wouldn't hurt anything to have that available surely. But the reality is that developers probably aren't going to add any code because all the recents screen entails is selecting or closing recent apps. And, since Android's memory management works better with apps left to their own devices ('scuze the pun), they're not going to do much to encourage closing from the recents screen, which is the only other reason anyone goes into that screen other than to switch apps. So if a user isn't going into that screen to close apps, that leaves switching apps, which is actually more economical to do from the home screen with two taps (home -> {app}) as opposed to launching recents, scrolling to different apps, and tapping a particular app.
I'd prefer the option of removing the screen altogether as I rarely use it anymore, especially since Nougat incorporated the double-tap to go back to the last used app.
Sometimes people goto 'recent' screen looking for an app they thought they had open. So yes 52 shortcuts here would be great
