I went to a Sprint store to noodle around with the KeyOne. I've always had one and sometimes two BlackBerrys at a time since 2006, always with AT&T. My Bold just celebrated its five year birthday (out of my cold dead hands!!!) and because I wear this thing on my hip (I've worn out four holsters) and can hold it and type fast with just one hand, I've been very reluctant to join the modern world. Tethered to the Sprint store display, it's hard to say how heavy or top heavy the KeyOne felt, and of course the user experience was dizzying compared to my ancient device. I like the look of the unlocked silver version and not the AT&T black one, but am unclear which is the better choice, spec and service-wise. How many email accounts can the KeyOne hold? And how does one wear such a slab on one's hip? Did anyone here switch from a Bold to a KeyOne? I will stay with AT&T. Thanks for any thoughts on all my various questions.

The specs are the same, the change is just visual.

There are no limits to email accounts. I think some people have had issues going over ten accounts, but I don't think that's an issue anymore.

Besides, even if it was, you can download several different email clients and have them all work together.

And you're not really supposed to wear it on your hip. You can, but it would be quite large and uniyeldy.

    Consider a pocket?

Wait, what?? I have been wearing both the KeyOne and the PRIV on my hip in holsters, just as I have been doing with every single Blackberry I have every used (and I have used almost ALL of them - 98%)..

Pockets can be dangerous, a good holster that has the device face in to protect the screen is a wonderful things. The rest of your post is spot on, just kinda went off the rails on the holster thing. Personal preference...

Exactly this. I don't care about making a fashion statement. I prefer function. A holster works best for me most of the time

I have always worn my phones in a swivel belt clip holster, even with some phones a lot bigger than the KEYᵒⁿᵉ. For my KEYᵒⁿᵉ I use the Leap swivel holster without a case on my KEYᵒⁿᵉ.
I've tried the phone in pocket thing, what a pia for me.

    Agreed on both posts!
@Smokeaire, have you looked at the SEIDIO spring clip holster for the K1? I was using my secondary "backup" PRIV holster for my K1 and while it was snug and the device fit well, there was just a bit of lateral movement, so I spent the $29 and got the SEIDIO made specifically for the K1 and am very happy.

I'll take a look at the Seidio holster. Thanks. It wasn't available when I got my KEYᵒⁿᵉ. The Leap holster works well. The only thing is the magnet closer doesn't turn the screen off. No biggie though.

Actually it does, I had the same question regarding that, but someone pointed out that it actually does have the magnet. when the device is placed in or very close to the holster, the screen locks and then goes off.

    It was a nice find...

I'm rocking mine in a Seidio Case WITH a Seidio Holster.

Broke my DTEK60 by not having it secured and protected.

I have always weared my BB on my hip! Since my first Bold 9000, back in 2008 to my present day Priv and Keyone.
Always have used the original BB holster with belt clip. For my Keyone I use the Priv's holster and it works great!
Never used pockets to store my phone. I am a heavy "vib mode" user and wearing the phone on my hip allows me to "feel" my different notifications.
The Keyone is NOT that big for belt holsters!

I'm just not hip! Mine is in a Stilgut flip case with clip.

I'm not a him - I'm a her! And I'm a designer who's known for my fashion sense AND I've always proudly rocked my BlackBerrys on my hip. I'm petite, though, and the size of the Priv and KeyOne has given me pause - well, that and learning how to use something that seems so complicated. But I'm willing to admit my five year old Bold has its limitations Does anybody have an opinion on unlocked vs AT&T? Is an updated KeyOne on the horizon? Thanks, all, for weighing in.

I have both the unlocked and ATT versions, and I haven't noticed any difference in performance. Personally, I love the all-black look which is the only reason I purchased the ATT KEYone.

Also, as a petite female myself, I don't find the size of the phone obtrusive at all. Cheers.

I've been using the Leap holster for several months with my KEYᵒⁿᵉ and not once has the magnet flap closure turned off my screen. No big deal since I just press the off button before putting it in the case.

Although I use a holster for my Priv, it is a bit uncomfortable to wear it in the vertical position, even though I'm tall. I just rotate it to the horizontal position and it works just fine for me.

Not the Leap holster, I was referring to the SEIDIO K1 holster that has the magnet, although it is not identified on the website. If you search on the forums, someone posted a short video showing the screen lock and timeout when holstering.

I had the Seidio Spring Clip Holster for my Passport. I liked it but occasionally the PP would get snagged on something like my cars seatbelt, become unclipped and take a tumble to the parking lot. No damage at all but still not 100% secure. Once in a casino it came unclipped for reasons I don't have a clue. It was lost for several hours, it was found and it had a footprint on the screen. No damage All these times the holster was still clipped to my pocket. So with my KEYᵒⁿᵉ I prefer the Leap beltclip holster for the security and the modest weather protection the "leather" pocket beltclip case offers.

Yes, the K1 would never survive that kind of "Casino" abuse! Especially the footprint, (wonder what you were rally doing there in the Casino, but what happens in Vegas......)

I never really liked the leather holsters with the flaps after the spring loaded clips came out - I always used the Otterbox when they will still making holsters for BB's.. but i hear ya.

Actually what happens in Booneville, Missour-rah....$$$$$. I kept that footprint on the PP screen for a week as a badge of durability.
And that is why I'll forgo the clip holster. I don't want my KEYᵒⁿᵉ screen going home on someone's shoe sole.
