With all the shortcuts and use of the cursor like a track pad, is it possible to use the KeyOne without touching the screen? This was one of the pluses I had for the Classic over the Q's.

The capacitive keyboard the way it is implemented now only scrolls and moves the cursor while typing. It does not do everything else a trackpad does. So the simple answer is no.

I also find you can't do much in Android without using the screen for the three home buttons.

If it had a trackpad then I would say yes. Which is my hope for the KEYtwo. I would pay plenty extra for a trackpad ;-)

I'd love to see a trackpad. Basically, a ClassicONE.

Not really, Android will still make you touch the Home, Back etc buttons. Moreover, each app may rely on something that may not be used by a trackpad.

Yes we miss the precision of a trackpad, however I don't believe we can have an Android phone where you fully use the device without having to touch the screen.

Same here... and the entire toolbelt is my hope.

Yea but that's pretty much the same on the Classic. We of course need the 3 buttons / toolbelt for home, back, etc...but the trackpad for navigation, editing, precision link selecting when browsing the web. U kno...the essentials ;-) And yea, a toolbelt is asking a lot on Android but not impossible. Hopefully TCL are aware of this. Eitherway no toolbelt on BlackDroid's isn't a deal breaker, just a constant dream. Lol

....even if they could just add these functions to the spacebar. The spacebar could be the trackpad as far as selecting, pointer, etc. Problem solved :-)

Yes but you're forgetting BlackBerry doesn't control Android nor they have a big market dictating others to use standards in order for the toolbelt to work.

For eg, Snapchat, how would make everything work in that app without touching the screen.

Yes it would be good but the reality is BlackBerry can't pull it off unless it becomes as famous as Samsung's.

The scrolling on the keyboard is choppy @ best. KEYᵒⁿᵉ does not compare to the Passport or Priv as the middle row is the main touch point. I still use the screen for smoothness.

Agreed but in portrait mode. I use it interchangeably though. Some places it's easier but then at times one handed scrolling works fine with some getting used to.

I don't believe the keyboard gestures or the sensitivity is the best. Hope they can fix it with a software update as landscape scrolling is really good.

I really like the phone, but I'm finding the trackpad is not really that good. Despite my best attempts portrait scrolling is disappointing (better in landscape mode).

I also find the double tap to control the cursor is frustrating in that it doesn't always recognise the double tap. Despite experimenting with different speeds and durations, I get at best a 7 in 10 success rate. Sadly it is so much less efficient than Google's rather neat spacebar trackpad.

Yup, I'm finding the keyboard trackpad ability poor than I expected also.

I failed to see the point. Without the touch screen, most of the Android apps would be unusable..and if you don't need any apps, then personally I would just stick with BB10...

After reading a lot of these I was expecting to be disappointed, but mine has been quite responsive. Double tap to movie the cursor works for me 9/10 times at least. I was having some trouble with that in the beginning, but found that maybe I'm not lifting my thumb off the keyboard enough. Now when I do it, I've gotten used to being more pronounced. It's not the speed, but I make sure my thumb is completely off, with some distance, between the taps, and that has worked great. I think it could vary from device to device, so I'll make sure nothing happens to this one, lol.
