    Yes you can set it to any language software-side.

    An app called "multilanguage keymap redefiner" from the Google Play store is supposed to let you configure output from a pkb; anyone tried this with Priv?

    Unfortunately what they've done with android pales in comparison to what was included on BB10. The android advantages with apps etc have nothing to do with BlackBerry software.

    I have faith that they'll eventually bring most of BB10 to android but right now it isn't so.

    There are apps that can do it, but they have to act as a keyboard so you lose the swipe functionality of the BB's keyboard while typing.
    I'd avoid that and buy the one with the keyboard mapping that you need. Maybe they changed something (I have a Priv), but I doubt it. Shame, really, as a few lines of code to add the ability to change mapping would help a lot of people.
